Zanjoe Marudo continues to earn praises and ‘gigil’ for his performance in The Broken Marriage Vow. He’s now known to many as the cheating husband David Ilustre. While that sounds like a validation, it becomes challenging when he has to sketch a big difference between David and the other roles he portray, like Andrei in the digital film “Ikaw Lang Ang Mahal.”

In the said movie, Zanjoe plays a documentarist, who goes to an artists’ community in Sagada. The character was written close to Zanjoe’s personality, so it’s quite easier from there. On the other hand, Andrei’s looks are similar to that of David and both projects were filmed in Baguio. That’s the more challenging part but Zanjoe hopes he was able to create a new and totally different character in Andrei.

For the first time, the Kapamilya hunk teams up with Kylie Verzosa, whom he only met on location. It was quite awkward in the beginning but he used the awkwardness to add believability to the scenes where their characters meet and get to know each other.

Zanjoe added that he first saw Kylie’s acting via romantic-drama movie “Kasal” and he was instantly impressed, “Doon ko siya nakita.

The two shared intimate moments in the movie. Asked how he prepared for the steamy scenes considering it’s their first time working together, Zanjoe answered, “Ako, pagdating sa mga intimate scenes, hindi ko siya pinaghahandaan masyado.

Zanjoe added that working with Joel Torre and Ronnie Lazaro was one reason he accepted the project. It’s always a great experience learning from the veterans, plus they’re in the soothing Baguio City.

As Zanjoe matures in the industry, he’s also become fully immersed in a movie or series’ creative process.

But there’s no pressure. For now, he’s just making the most of what’s thrown his way.
