Rans Rifol continues to prove that she is more than just a pretty face and an award-winning actress. The Kapamilya star adds another skill to her repertoire – hosting. She’s currently part of PIE Channel’s “The SPG Show” where she and co-hosts Negi and Argel Saycon tackle interesting, sensitive topics “na hindi masyadong napag-uusapan sa umaga.” Find out more in this episode of Kapamilya Chat.

Acting is Rans’ first love. It is her purpose, something she’s good at and passionate about. But it wouldn’t hurt to explore other skills. Rans isn’t stranger to hosting, thanks to her diverse training as a member of girl group MNL48. However, her stint in “The SPG Show” is a lot more nerve-wracking since it involves deliberate discussions.

“Very new siya to me, so parang marami pa rin akong natututunan. Marami pa akong bagong mga bagay na na-e-explore,” she said. “Medyo mahirap talaga kasi may mga words, may mga pinag-uusapan kami na hindi naman talaga pwede on national television. Good thing naman is may busina kami, which is, parang, ‘pag binusinahan na kami, bawal na ituloy kung anuman ‘yung pinag-uusapan.”

They recently interviewed an adult content creator and a transwoman in the show. Though the theme comes off as naughty, Rans assured that they also present insightful life lessons through their topics. Asked her dream guest on “The SPG Show,” she could only think of the Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda.

What keeps her motivated as a PIE Jock is the management’s trust. Her co-hosts help her feel more comfortable as well. From strangers, she, Negi, and Argel grew close in no time. They were shy and uneasy during their mock taping but surprisingly went all-out on their first real episode.

“Sobrang dali kasi nila maka-vibe. Nakakatawa, alam mo ‘yun, sobrang light lang pag sila ‘yung kasama ko. So hindi kami nahirapan magkaroon ng bond o chemistry,” shared Rans.

“Si Ate Negi, kahit off-cam, nakakatawa. Si Argel naman, lagi ‘yan nauuna sa akin so lagi niya ako inaasar na late ako, nauna lang naman siya sa call time,” she burst into laughter. “Super hindi ako nahirapan makisama sa kanilang dalawa kasi magka-vibe kaming tatlo.”

Rans promised that she will never turn her back on acting. She’s looking forward to doing more teleseryes and movies, and hopefully, she gets to experience her dream action roles.
