Aside from the delicious food and karaoke and dance party, any family gathering during the holidays wouldn’t be complete without fun and exciting games. Just like what happened in the year-end celebration of showbiz icon Maricel Soriano with her family, as they ended 2022 and welcomed the new year through playing a series of party games.

And the Diamond Star generously shared their enjoyable bonding moment in her latest vlog entitled “Basaan o Putukan (New Year Vlog)” uploaded last December 31, 2022. She commenced it by greeting her avid viewers and thanking them for their fervent support to her channel, and proceeded on introducing her special guests – her beloved “pamileeeh” – comprised by her siblings Mykee and Mel Martinez, niece Meryll Soriano and her partner Joem Bascon, and son Sebastien.

For their first game, they played the modified “Bato Bato Pik,” in which she won in the end. After feasting on their sumptuous food, they went on to play their second game, the exhilarating “Tongue Twister Challenge,” which she once again dominated after her competitors failed to perfectly enunciate and complete the tongue twisters given to them.

The first to take on the dare was Meryll, who nailed repeating “nakakapagpabagabag” not just once but ten times. Sebastien was next, who, according to his mom, does not speak much Tagalog, so he immediately failed in completing “pitumpu’t pitong puting tupa”.

Somehow knowing his fate, Mykee prepared a face towel to shield himself off the water and it was indeed useful as he missed “bumili ako ng bituka ng butiki sa botika” just on his first try. Mel, on the other hand, almost made it, but stammered on his sixth attempt in saying “siopao, siomai, suman.” Last, but definitely not the least, is Maricel, who wowed everyone with how she seamlessly delivered the tongue twister she assigned herself.

For their third game, their knowledge about one another was tested as each one of them had the chance to ask the others random questions about themselves in the family version of “How Well Do We Know Each Other?”

The first one to ask was Maricel, who quizzed them about her first dog, first boyfriend, and the person she loves the most. Meryll came second who asked them about her favorite color, the supposed name of her firstborn Elijah, and the nickname of her first-ever car. Next was Sebastien, who quizzed them about his first school in grade school, favorite pizza brand, and favorite pizza flavor.

Mel was fourth, who asked them about the part of his body that was cut off when he was still young, his nickname when he was still a kid, and his zodiac sign. Last was Mykee, who quizzed them about his moniker in his childhood years, his favorite color in briefs, and the first-ever name of his boutique.

Their knowledge in songs was put to the test in their final game “Singing Bee,” in which they had to supply the missing lyrics to the song given to them. In the end, none of them won the challenge and they were all shot with water.
