“I’ve been really good, I’ve been really happy,” Janine Berdin enthused in this episode of Kapamilya Chat where she talked about her newest song. Watch the video and read on to catch up with the singer-songwriter.

Happiness glows on the 21-year-old performer as she works on new sets of dreams and expresses her passion for music. She has ticked another item off her bucket list by bringing her own band to her gigs. She’s also come up with a single called “Bagay Nga Tayo Pero.”

This one is specially made for those who were left hanging by a potential romance that just didn’t work in the end. In youngsters’ lexicon: “pa-fall.” She wrote this song knowing people go through a similar scenario, peppered with her personal experiences. “Unfortunately, true to life po ‘yun,” she said of her fresh track, which has a cute, playful vibe matched by her new bubblegum pink hair.

It's one of those songs she wrote quickly. And she was hands-on throughout, co-producing it with her team with the help of Star Music’s Jonathan Manalo. As she grows in the industry, Janine is slowly learning to be more vocal about her music. She’s become a lot more collaborative, no longer shy to raise her opinion and wants. Of course, she’s grateful to have her team allowing her to do her music exactly as she envisions.

Even the cover art was made by Janine, inspired by her quirky high school memories of GMs (group messages). “Parang gano’n po kasi ‘yung song ko. Gusto ko siyang maging innocent and playful. I mean, it’s a serious feeling na masaktan. Pero yung song na ‘to, it talks about that pain in a playful way,” she described.
