Careers stars likely to pursue outside showbiz

We know how good (or even exceptional) they are in their chosen paths in showbiz. But have you ever wondered what careers our favorite celebrities are likely to pursue if ever they are not part of the entertainment industry?

Well, just in case you do, we asked a few of them during their respective exclusive interviews with ent.abs-cbn.com and collated their interesting responses in this video!

Let’s begin with the headliners of “Lavender Fields” – Jericho Rosales, Jodi Sta. Maria, and Janine Gutierrez. Apparently, it has been Jodi’s lifelong dream to become a doctor, so in spite of being busy with her work commitments, she still pushed herself to finish her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the age of 39 in 2021. Meanwhile, not a lot of people are probably aware that Janine actually has a degree in European Studies in International Business, so she can certainly ace it as an ambassadress or diplomat. Jericho, on the other hand, has two jobs in mind: being a wedding singer and a professional adventurer. According to him, he’s really serious about pursuing the former since he likes singing at weddings, as he find them truly personal. At the same time, his dream of becoming the latter is inspired by TV personality Drew Arellano since he’s a huge fan of him and his popular travel show.

Whether they’re working on a project or achieving their goals in life, it seems that real-and-reel-life couple Jane Oineza and RK Bagatsing don’t want to get separated at all since both of them want to become chefs. While Jane inherently likes to cook, RK hopes that his flair for using the air fryer and microwave oven will already suffice.

If ever she’s not writing songs at present, up-and-coming songstress Trisha Denise is probably writing prescriptions to patients, as she’s likely to push herself to fulfill her dream of becoming a doctor despite her fear of blood. Her fellow promising singer, FANA, on the other hand, imparted that it was actually her childhood ambition to become a lawyer even though she’s not really fond of reading.

Becoming a lawyer is also in the offing for Idol Philippines Season 2 grand winner Khimo Gumatay since he proudly disclosed that he’s a Political Science degree holder.

Aside from being an outstanding actress, did you know that FPJ’s Batang Quiapo star Mercedes Cabral is actually a talented visual artist as well? Thus, when the time comes that she’s no longer in front of the camera, she will definitely go back to doing arts and murals and joining exhibits. On the other hand, her co-star Kim Domingo sees herself becoming a dentist.

The cast members of the box-office hit Un/Happy For You also envision themselves taking on other careers if ever they’re not in showbiz. Interestingly, Bianca de Vera aspires to become a racecar driver, Aljon Mendoza hopes to be a firefighter, and Bong Gonzales is likely to pursue his career as a lawn tennis player and join professional competitions.

Meanwhile, Joshua Garcia imagines himself still entertaining people as a content creator, as well as working in fastfood chains and using his earnings to build personal computers. Julia Barretto, on the other hand, has been consistent in her aspiration to become a preschool teacher because she likes kids.

Julia’s current boyfriend, Gerald Anderson, divulged that he’s likely to pursue becoming part of the military force, for it has been his ambition ever since he was a kid.

Aside from making it to the local entertainment scene, the ex-housemates of “Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11” also have other dream careers they aim to pursue. For “The Lola-loving Apo of Occidental Mindoro,” Kanata Tapia, joining the reality show made her realize that she now wants to become a lawyer. Meanwhile, “The Sporty-Go-Lucky Kuya of Camarines Norte,” Marc Nanninga Jr., wishes to follow in the footsteps of his athlete-father by either becoming a pro basketball or soccer player.  Since cooking has always been his passion, “The Seamanluluto of Bacolod” Brx Ruiz will go back to his job as a chef. His ex-housemates, Noimie Steikunas (“The Mombitious Chikadora of Lithuania”) and Therese Villamor (“The Determined Daughter of Camarines Sur”), on the other hand, will pursue new career paths as a businesswoman and a model, respectively.

Whose dream career surprised you the most, Kapamilya?
