With FPJ’s Batang Quiapo triumphantly dominating primetime television since its premiere in February 2023, as well as strings of product endorsements, well-loved series and flicks, and a bunch of acting awards under his belt, Coco Martin is undoubtedly among the most illustrious and bankable actors in the country.

From being a noteworthy actor in independent cinema in the early years of his acting career, he has since flourished into becoming one of the reigning figures in mainstream Philippine entertainment, currently being dubbed as the Primetime King.

Thus, he’s one of the highly anticipated figures to grace the Star Magic Ball over the years. As we look forward to seeing him in this year’s ABS-CBN Ball, let’s look back on his red-carpet appearances in the annual star-studded affair in this feature!

Coco debuted at the Ball in 2009, the same year he had his first-ever starring role in a teleserye via Tayong Dalawa. He was apparently a bit lanky then, parading in a white and black ensemble – white blazer and bowtie and black trousers, button-up shirt, and shoes.

In 2010, he looked dapper in a classic tuxedo then opted for a four-piece suit that consisted of a black blazer, black trousers, black waistcoat, white shirt, and silver bowtie. The following year (2011), he once again sported a tuxedo yet departed from his squeaky-clean look by growing his stubble.

Keeping it simple yet classy, he showed up in a classic tuxedo that featured a black suit jacket with shawl lapel, a shirt with tiny stud buttons, and slim black bowtie for Star Magic Ball 2012. The same went for his look in 2013, wherein he was also cladded in a typical black and white tuxedo, as well as in 2014 when the actor-filmmaker walked down the red carpet in a black and white formal wear accented with a white bowtie.

He might not have a perfect attendance, but we’re hoping that Coco Martin will show up anew in the much-anticipated ABS-CBN Ball this coming September 30!
