Kilig teleserye moments of DonBelle, FranSeth, LoiNie, & KDLex in 2023

The year 2023 has been a prolific one for ABS-CBN when it comes to teleseryes as it wasn’t only able to produce a couple of new series but six, four of which are top-billed by eight of the brightest stars and four of the hottest loveteams of their generation.

If you’ve been an ardent viewer, you would know that they’re none other than Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano (DonBelle) for Can’t Buy Me Love, Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin (FranSeth) for Dirty Linen, and Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte (LoiNie) and KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacad (KDLex) for Pira-Pirasong Paraiso.

Brace yourselves for kilig overload as we look back on some of their kilig teleserye scenes in this feature!

Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano (Can’t Buy Me Love)

Our primetime viewing has been filled with good vibes ever since Can’t Buy Me Love premiered in October. At the same time, our DonBelle hearts have been brimming with kilig every time we see Bingo and Caroline together interacting with one another.

They may come from different walks of life and have different personalities, but they still clicked amid their almost incessant bickering, which we really find amusing. And from being her savior after almost getting drowned and murdered by her kidnappers, Bingo went on to become Caroline’s most trusted confidant as he helps resolve her and her family’s strings of problems, as well as consistently stays by her side whether she needs him or not.

While their characters are totally far from who they are in real life, we can all agree that the chemistry exuded by DonBelle in this series is definitely convincing and genuine.

Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin (Dirty Linen)

Coming from two different loveteams, Seth and Francine got to prove that they’re really meant for each other, at least onscreen for now. And they’re able to showcase it through their stints as Nico and Chiara in the controversial series Dirty Linen, which served as their first-ever teleserye as a pair.

The type of relationship they have might be nothing new since their characters came from different socio-economic classes – Chiara came from the influential Fiero clan, while Nico was the son of their family driver – but FranSeth was still able to put a different flavor in this trope. Besides, we also found Chiara’s maarte and kikay personality very charming, while Nico’s playful and sweet side so adorable.

From being the most constant person in her life, her shoulder to cry on, and her knight-in-shining armor, Nico went on to become her boyfriend, which doubled the kilig we felt. Furthermore, who would forget their cute term of endearment, which was “sweetie”? We wonder if FranSeth is already at the same stage in real life.

Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte (Pira-Pirasong Paraiso)

A policeman and a hooligan falling in love? We’ve probably seen similar love stories before, but they are arguably not as cute and as a kilig as Baby and Jonaf, impressively played by reel-and-real-life sweethearts Loisa and Ronnie, right?

Their romance used to be complicated since Baby is the adoptive sister of Kano (Markus Paterson), who killed Jonaf’s father – who’s also part of the police force – plus she was also in the scene when it happened because it was during one of their missions. Besides, it was Jonaf, as well, who was assigned to investigate the burglary incidents in the Lamadrid residence, in which the adoptive family of Baby was responsible. He also served as her bodyguard at some point, which made them closer to each other and eventually led to their friendship.

But in the end, it’s their romantic feelings for each other that still prevailed, as they even became a couple. Jonaf may have decided to end their relationship upon finding out the deepest and darkest secret that Baby had been hiding from him, but we firmly believe that everything will turn out okay for them and they’re still going to be each other’s end game – just like Ronnie and Loisa.

KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacad (Pira-Pirasong Paraiso)

KD and Alexa have also scored their first-ever teleserye as a loveteam via Pira-Pirasong Paraiso, in which they take on the roles of Elon and Beth, respectively. The relationship between Elon and Beth might have started the wrong way, as the latter, who also goes by the name Angela Medina, initially used the former and his special feelings for her to get closer to her estranged sister Diana (Charlie Dizon) to exact revenge at her, but she’s able to make everything right eventually.

Even though they’re portraying other personas, the chemistry of KDLex is indeed oozing in every scene that they do together. They indeed succeeded in making their ardent fans kilig, especially whenever Elon would utter pleasantries and pick-up lines to Beth. Besides, we also find it cute that she is his mentor as he pursues his ambition of becoming a brilliant journalist like her.

And the friendship they’re able to establish has eventually evolved into a romantic affair that’s able to withstand the test of time. Thus, we’re really thrilled when Elon finally proposed marriage to her, to which she responded a resounding “yes, of course!” Will the same thing happen to KDLex in real life? Let’s see!
