From making our hearts flutter in He’s Into Her, Kaori Oinuma and JC Alcantara further delivered kilig to their ardent shippers kilig in the sixth serving of the Dear MOR Celebrity Specials published on MOR Entertainment’s official YouTube channel on Monday, July 18.

Titled “First Kilig,” it follows the cute love story of Rizzy Angeles and Nathan Salazar, played by the two promising young stars. A consistent top student from Bulacan who’s also active in extra-curricular activities, she always aims to be on top of their class to graduate as their batch’s frontrunner and make her parents proud, even though the pandemic has been challenging for students like them.

As she used to be their class’ Top 1, she couldn’t help but doubt and get upset on how come Nathan, who was notorious for cutting classes prior to the pandemic, shared the highest spot in one of their exams after garnering the same score. She believed that something fishy was going on in their class, but her best friends Jelai and Zanya pacified her by telling her that their classmates might have started to take their studies seriously now and advised her not to overthink about it anymore.

Being the grade conscious and competitive that she is, Rizzy considered Nathan as her stiffest rival as he began to be more active in their recitations and ace their exams. Thus, she found it difficult to accept when their teacher teamed them up with one another in a research presentation. Thus, in her attempt to get away with it, she pretended to be sick and asked their teacher if she could just do it solo for Nathan’s grades not to be affected.

Afterwards, Nathan called her unexpectedly to not only discuss the project with her, but to also check on her and wish her to feel better. His sincerity and kindness made her feel guilty, so she finally agreed to collaborate with him in their project. On the day of their presentation, Rizzy encountered a minor technical difficulty, so Nathan stepped up and told her to just relax.

This changed her perception on Nathan, especially when she started to get to know him deeper through their chat exchanges. But their conversations became seldom when he got busy with his personal life, which really got her distressed.

Since she wasn’t able to talk to him for quite some time, Rizzy’s annoyance towards him amplified. As her friends incessantly picking on her, she wasn’t able to hold her temper when he called her out of nowhere and warned him to stop bothering her or else she would block him on social media.

This caused a misunderstanding between them that she truly regretted, yet they’re able to eventually fix it after talking about what happened to them in the past days. That light and fun conversation made her heart skip a beat, which went on when he invited her to take the COVID-19 vaccine together, which she gladly accepted.

Even though Nathan expressed that he only wanted to go with her, Rizzy tagged along her besties Jelai and Zanya to accompany them. It was Rizzy and Nathan’s first-time to see each other again after the pandemic, thus excitement and incessant asaran filled that day. The kilig and bliss they feel every time they talk over the phone or they are together confirmed that they have indeed already fallen in love with each other.

Although the feeling is mutual and are they are happy with each other’s company, Rizzy is not keen on putting their relationship to the next level since she’s not ready yet and she still wants to to know him better.

For sure, a lot of teens (and teens-at-heart!) didn’t just get thrilled, but were also able to relate to the cute love story of Rizzy and Nathan as we probably experienced infatuation at some point in our lives. Just like Dear MOR hosts DJ Popoy and DJ Bea, who divulged their points-of-view and own experiences with regards to young love, as well as imparted their insightful advices to the listeners.

While there’s nothing wrong with falling in love at a young age, but young people out there should keep in mind their boundaries and limitations in order for them to still attain their goals and make their dreams come true. Love should serve as our inspiration and not as a hindrance for us to get to where we want to be.

Before the episode ended, they also shared the behind-the-scenes interview with Kaori and JC and the snippet of their recording session.

Just by simply listening to Kaori and JC, we can say that the two indeed owned their characters as if they’re Rizzy and Nathan for real. Besides, we’re also able to feel their chemistry with how they delivered their dialogues and banters that truly set the butterflies in our stomachs aflutter.
