We can all agree that Luis Manzano and Jessy Mendiola are among our ultimate celebrity “couple goals” at present. Aside from being both beautiful inside and out and the genuine love for each other that they display, how they are as parents to their adorable firstborn Isabella Rose is also something worth admirable.

And we’re able to get a further glimpse of their lives as parents and as a married couple in the latest episode of “Luis Listens”, wherein the I Can See Your Voice host had a lighthearted and insightful one-on-one conversation with his lovely wife. Thus, he considers this as “probably the most special episode” ever in the history of his online talk show.

The interview commenced with the couple imparting the real reason why they had Peanut’s 1st birthday party during Jessy’s special day last December 3 is that they are assuming that only a few of their friends and loved ones will be available on her exact birthday on December 28, since it’s already the holidays. So, they just decided to celebrate it in advance and have another celebration on Rosie’s birthday.

“I can’t say perfect, but I’m really happy where we are,” she told her husband when he asked how everything has been for her as a housewife and mother. “Hindi naman palaging rainbows and butterflies. Hindi naman palaging masaya. May mga moments din na struggles at saka meron din tayong mga bagay na pinagdadaanan minsan. But that’s life.”

Then she continued, “I’m happy, kuntento ako sa family natin. Parang feeling ko, season ko talaga ngayon na mag-step back sa career ko and, at the same time, mas mag-grow as a mom and as a wife.”

As Luis had her look back on her motherhood journey from her pregnancy to now that they already have their daughter, the actress said that “everything’s worth it”. She might have experienced stress, doubts, and anxiety, but nothing beats the happiness and excitement they feel as they move up to the next chapters of their lives as parents.

Jessy then wasn’t able to hold back her emotions as she confessed asking herself a number of times, “Am I doing enough for my child [for] my family?” Besides, the drastic changes that motherhood has brought into her life, her career, and her body have triggered her anxiety. But all of those were kissed away by the assurance and support that Luis gives her as a partner, as well as by her unwavering faith in God.

With regard to how Luis is as a dad and hubby, Jessy commented, “maraming nagbago, pero the same pa rin.” She appreciates that his personality hasn’t changed, and he’s still the same humorous, patient, generous, and kind man that she loved before and continues to love. Their marriage may not be perfect, but she unconditionally loves him for who he is.

She is also hands-down on how a dedicated, awesome, and doting dad and a great provider he is. Jessy knows how busy he has been with work, but she wishes for him to be able to spend more time with her.

Even though she’s already a mom, we could all notice how the actress has remained glowing, gorgeous, and sexy. Many people, especially moms like her, maybe all-praises for her getting back in shape and staying fit, but Jessy confessed that she actually didn’t notice it.

When asked for her advice to moms who feel pressured to lose weight, get back to their previous form, or appear fresh and beautiful most of the time, she told them to “just take your time” because it’s really okay to let loose and not put on makeup. They should make an effort to take care of themselves, and do the things that make them happy.

The proud parents also imparted their aspirations for Peanut, Jessy simply wants her to be happy, although she won’t become an artist or politician like them and Luis’ parents.

On the other hand, Luis conveyed that he only wishes for her to become a blessing to others. She stated, “Ang dream natin sa kanya is totoong maging blessing siya sa ibang tao. Gusto kong dumating ‘yong araw na magkaedad na si Peanut, [tapos magka-edad na rin ako], if I go to a place na may ibang mga tao, masasabi nila na ‘na-encounter namin ang anak mo and she was a blessing to us.’” Jessy agreed, saying that it’s indeed the best thing that a parent can hear about their child.

And for the “million-dollar question” of this interview, which is whether she’s keen or prepared for them to have “Baby No. 2,” Jessy told her “how-how” if it will be granted to them by the Lord as she puts her faith in His divine plans.

Luis capped off their lovely conversation by reminding Jessy that she’s an awesome mom and Peanut that she’s an awesome daughter. He also expressed his gratitude to those who appreciate their well-loved little family.
