There’s no denying Anji Salvacion’s confidence from the get-go. But with a gorgeous new ‘do, a sexier physique, and a fresh brand of music, she’s obviously grown even braver and more empowered. And that’s exactly the theme behind her new EP “Grit.”

Anji believes that achieving the best version of oneself begins with commitment, especially when taking on a journey towards physical fitness, as she has done. Her enviable figure is a result of a healthy diet and consistent exercise, emphasizing that one does not have to starve themselves to be fit but rather make healthier food choices.

In her newest EP called “Grit,” the beloved Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10 Big Winner delivers fresh tracks that capture strength, resilience, and confidence. Departing from her usual romantic melodies, here, she ventures into a more upbeat sound.

The key single “You Didn’t” encapsulates the theme of resilience in the face of adversity. Anji emphasizes the importance of maintaining inner strength even though other people try to inflict hurt. “No matter how people bring you down, you have that indomitable spirit. You’re unbreakable and you’re undefeated,” she remarked in this episode of Kapamilya Chat. On days she feels overwhelmed by pain and the universe seems against her, she turns to prayer and allows herself to release her emotions. She believes that letting go of these emotions helps her to no longer dwell on them. “I just want to give myself that peace of mind. At hindi natin deserve na binibigyan natin ‘yung sarili natin ng problems na unnecessary na.”

To match the song’s powerful message of self-love, Anji rocked her inner drag queen in the music video directed by Marina Summers, who happened to be one of her idols. Anji was pleasantly surprised when the Star Pop team proposed the idea of collaborating with Marina. She was excited to see her creativity in the flesh. Anji recalled that she couldn’t resist fangirling over her and letting her know that she’s a fan of Drag Race Philippines when she first saw her at last year’s ABS-CBN Ball.

Filming the music video proved to be a transformative experience for Anji, who candidly admitted to being at her lowest point in life before the shoot. The process served as her much-needed ‘comeback’. As a result, she emerged from the experience even stronger than before.

The track “Happy” is about acknowledging past struggles and coming out of the other side happier. Its lyrics deeply resonate with Anji, who, as an artist, frequently faces judgment from those who only see the surface.

Also in the EP is "Just Stay," a charming and upbeat romantic tune that perfectly captures the feeling of meeting someone special and wanting to make things work with them.

Masterpiece" celebrates embracing one's uniqueness and rejecting the pressure to conform to social standards. Listen to this if you’re seeking a dose of self-love and confidence boost. Anji resonates deeply with the song's message, having once been a people-pleaser herself, only to realize it kills her happiness.

Have you ever experienced betrayal? "Don't Lie To Me" will surely resonate with your feelings of angst. In real life, Anji believes that betrayal can be empowering, as it can awaken your inner strength to accept things as they are and hold your head high.

Those who loved “Paraiso”, originally released in her first EP, will be treated to a remix version in her latest release. The song evokes the sensation of being in one's happy place, a comforting sanctuary.

The Linlang: The Teleserye Version actress expressed her admiration for all the songs in her EP and the talented individuals who wrote them. But they ended up choosing “You Didn’t” as the key track due to its powerful message and the truth it aims to convey to listeners.

The Kapamilya star is gearing up for her album launch on March 16, putting in considerable effort for the event. She's diligently training her vocal endurance through music classes and even meticulously planning her her looks and outfits, leaving no detail overlooked.
