Aside from the handsome, dashing, and hunky Estrella brothers of “A Family Affair,” we are surely smitten by their gorgeous partners, too! While we already know leading lady Ivana Alawi, as well as Heaven Peralejo and Aya Fernandez since they’ve appeared in a several Kapamilya series, newcomer Rans Rifol is apparently new to the eyes of many.
Just in case you’re wondering how she broke into the local entertainment scene and yearning to get to know her more, keep on reading as we reveal a few things that you should know about her!
She’s a former member of MNL48.
Born Francinne Roy Rifol on October 18, 2001, Rans shot to stardom when she became one of the first members of the Pinoy pop all-girl group MNL48, the Philippine-based sister group of the global supergroup AKB48 formed in 2018. Thus, we can infer that our girl is multi-talented as she could certainly sing and dance, as members of the girl band undergo rigorous trainings and have already performed in various events in and out of the country.
She’s been in show business for already a decade.
But unbeknownst to many, Rans is actually not that new in showbiz anymore. In an exclusive interview with Metro.Style in 2021, she disclosed that her passion for performing started through her participation in school and church activities, which made her realize that this is the path that she wanted to take.
Her determination to fulfill her dream fueled her to join acting and voice workshops, which eventually led to her scoring stints in various teleseryes and indie flicks. In 2015, she landed a role in the full-length feature film “Patintero: Ang Alamat ni Meng Patalo,” and the independent short film Batibat two years later. And in 2020, she appeared in an episode of Ipaglaban Mo.
She’s also now a certified Star Magic artist after being among the talents who took part in the Black Pen contract signing event held last year.
She’s already an award-winning actress.
However, it was her astounding performance in the drama film “Kun Maupay Man It Panahon” (or “Whether the Weather Is Fine”), which she topbilled alongside Charo Santos and Daniel Padilla, that earned her the Best Actress in a Supporting Role trophy in the 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival and nomination for the same category in the FAMAS Awards.
In the movie, which was set during the time super typhoon Yolanda devastated Tacloban City in 2013, the 20-year-old star played the role of Andrea, the street-smart girlfriend of Daniel’s character Miguel.
It was indeed an extraordinary feat for a budding actress like her, considering that she competed with veterans Eugene Domingo and Janice de Belen in the said category. Truly unbelievable, right? Thus, her win really came as a surprise to her, which made her exclaim, “It feels surreal, oh my gosh! Thank you” at the end of her acceptance speech.
She’s a multi-faceted young woman.
Aside from being a performer, Rans also had other things on her plate. In that same Metro.Style interview, it was revealed that she also “helps run and co-manage her family’s small business, a milk tea shop. She also cooks and bakes in her spare time, and looks after their pets and watches movies in different genres. On top of it all, she studies hard to graduate with a BS Tourism degree (Rans is in her second year!), and is active in doing livestreams as well.”
She’s a certified dog lover.
And as we’ve mentioned, Rans keeps herself occupied by her beloved pets, too. In a video published in the PUSH YouTube channel titled “5 things you should know about Rans Rifol”, she imparted that she has four dogs then. Her furbabies include Kimchi, a French bulldog; Odeng, a maltese; and Juno and Pablo which are both pocket bully.
Keep on showing your love and support for her by not missing an episode of “A Family Affair,” weeknights on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z and iWantTFC.
