Klarisse describes Britney Jaya Patti La Belle

More than a week after being hailed as the grand winner of Your Face Sounds Familiar Season 3“The Soul Diva” Klarisse de Guzman enthusiastically took on the Kapamilya React to share her reactions on her most trending performances in the show, as well as her experiences in being part of it.

The episode commenced by flashing her first-ever transformation to Christina Aguilera, through which she’s able to showcase her prowess and singing and dancing as she performed “Dirrty”. Since it was her first time to step on the YFSF stage, she recalled being too nervous during those times.

When asked what her worries were in joining the competition, she admitted that it was having to dance since she hadn’t done that yet on-screen prior to her stint there.

“Siyempre, familiar naman ako talaga sa Your Face Sounds Familiar kasi nanonood talaga ako ng mga past seasons. Ang worry ko talaga noon is sumayaw kasi hindi ako sumasayaw and alam ko naman na kailangan sumayaw doon dahil hindi mo naman alam kung anong ibibigay sa’yo. So, ‘yon ang parang inhibition ko before na ‘kaya ko kaya?’” Klarisse related.

Then she added, “Pero ‘yon nga, sabi ko ‘let’s do this’. No’ng sinabing kasali ako, natanggap ako sa audition, then ‘yon, sabi ko ‘kaya ko ‘yan’. Pinush ko naman ang sarili ko. Thank God na nakayanan ko naman and sobrang dami kong natutunan sa kanila.”

Next was her impeccable portrayal of The Queen of Soul Jaya as she belted out “Hanggang Dito Na Lang.” According to her, it is one of her most memorable performances as it absolutely impressed everyone and bestowed the 29-year-old singer her first-ever weekly winner trophy.

While she had been mimicking Jaya’s singing style, depicting her on the show still became a challenge for Klarisse since she had to completely copy and maintain the signature voice of the veteran singer all throughout her performance.

When it comes to her favorite behind-the-scene moments, she revealed that it’s during their makeup sessions that usually lasted for four to five hours. This gave her and her fellow celebrity contenders to spend time and bond with one another through endless chikahan and food trips, which she now truly misses.

Her “Oops…I Did It Again” number ala-Britney Spears was shown afterwards, which was really challenging for her since she had to sing and dance at the same time. She also poked fun at herself by noting how she looked like a hotdog in that episode because of her red sleek bodysuit.

Since she has already exhibited her hidden talent in dancing, Klarisse said that she’s very much ready to show it as well in her future performances, especially in ASAP Natin ‘To.

With regards to the preparations the Your Face Sounds Familiar performers had to do before stepping on the stage, she imparted that they had to listen to the icon given to them in a certain week and heed the pieces of advice from their mentors Jed Madela and Nyoy Volante.

Last, but definitely not the least was her memorable winning moment, which was belting out “Over The Rainbow” as her chosen artist Patti La Belle, after she was announced the champion. She recalled being emotional that time because she still couldn’t believe that she bested the six other celebrity performers. Even though it hasn’t sunk in to her yet until now, she’s very much thankful for that feat.

When asked who among her fellow contenders she considered her stiffest rival, she refused to directly answer it and mentioned Vivoree Esclito and Lie Reposposa as the ones who surprised her the most.

The episode concluded with Klarisse sharing what being part of Your Face Sounds Familiar Season 3 has taught her.

“Sa buong journey ko sa Your Face Sounds Familiar, sobrang dami kong natutunan d’yan. Performance-wise, na parang huwag ka nang mag-hold back. Huwag matakot, ibigay mo ‘yong best mo, huwag kang matakot i-try ang mga bagong bagay – ‘yon ang mga natutunan ko. Parang lumabas ka sa box, level up pa.”

She also thanked everyone who fervently watched the show, as well as expressed her wish to see our Kapamilyas again soon in person.
