WEEK 8 RANKING: TNT Boys win as Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men

After earning a standing ovation and their first-ever Your Face Sounds Familiar medal with their fierce take on the iconic pop group Destiny’s Child, TNT Boys, comprised of Francis Concepcion, Mackie Empuerto, and Keifer Samchez, once again emerged as the weekly winner with their magnificent rendition of Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men love song “One Sweet Day”.

Let’s take a look back on what went down on the eighth week of the competition.

TNT Boys as Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men - 24 Stars

Fresh from their second Little Big Shots US stint that absolutely wowed, not only the spectators but Queen member Brian May as well, with their spectacular performance of the band’s “Somebody to Love”, the trio amazingly dominated this week’s showdown after notching 24 stars. Francis was the one who impersonated the well-known diva, while Mackie and Kiefer personified the vocal group’s two members.

Krystal Brimner as Dionne Warwick - 21 Stars

Her transformation as the 60’s songstress Dionne Warwick would surely forever stay in our hearts because it was really on-point and her version of the upbeat “I Say A Little Prayer” totally impressed the jurors, giving her 21 stars.

Esang De Torres as Adele - 16 Stars

Her transformation as the 60’s songstress Dionne Warwick would surely forever stay in our hearts because it was really on-point and her version of the upbeat “I Say A Little Prayer” totally impressed the jurors, giving her 21 stars.

Noel Comia, Jr. as Bob Marley - 15 Stars

It felt like summer again as he exceptionally portrayed Bob Marley, complete with the groovy voice and iconic fashion style the reggae legend had popularized, and sang his hit “Wait in Vain”. He received 15 stars.

Sheena Belarmino as Darren Espanto - 14 Stars

Who didn’t fall in love with the Tawag ng Tanghalan and Dance Kids alumna’s impersonation of her idol, singing his first-ever single “Inlove Ako Sa ‘Yo”? She may had fell short with only 12 stars this week, but the surprise appearance of the Filipino-Canadian singer on-stage and his words of affirmation were enough to make her feel like a winner.

Chunsa Jung as Edgar "Bobot" Mortiz - 12 Stars

Impersonating someone who made a great impact in your life and is revered in the industry is definitely a difficult task. However, the Goin’ Bulilit star was able to withstand the pressure of mimicking their director Bobot Mortiz in his younger years and serenaded us with the classic “My Pledge of Love”.

Marco Masa as Randy Santiago- 12 Stars

He was incredibly shining, not only because of his glittery costume, but of his impressive and vigorous portrayal of hitmaker Randy Santiago as well. Of course, he didn’t forget to wear shades to fully cop the singer-actor’s iconic look.

Onyok Pineda as Coco Martin - 12 Stars

If there’s one word to describe his performance, it would be “astig!”, just like him and the icon he impersonated – his idol and kuya Coco Martin. The jurors praised him for his keenness to details and energy in recreating the “Peksman” cover of his former FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and Ang Panday co-actor.
