More than two years after Wildflower shocked us with its “Wildest Ending,” the well-loved and highly talked about revenge drama is back for a Primetime Bida rerun now that the network has imposed programming changes due to the enhanced community quarantine scheme being implemented by the government.
As we once again join bida-kontrabida Ivy Aguas, brilliantly portrayed by Maja Salvador, in her journey towards exacting revenge against the affluent and influential political family of Ardientes who made her family’s life miserable and ordered their massacre that killed her father, let’s also revisit the seasoned actress’ interview in Jeepney TV last year wherein she talked about the critically-acclaimed teleserye.
“No’ng pinitch sa’kin, kunwari lang ako [nagsabi] na, ‘Sige po, pag-iisipan ko.’ Pero buo na, alam kong buo na ‘yong desisyon ko na gagawin ko ‘yong teleserye,” she started off, describing how she reacted when the project was offered to her years ago.
The award-winning actress then went on to tell how Wildflower indeed helped in promoting women empowerment, saying, “Iba’t ibang kuwento ng mga babae dahil kapag gusto nila at kaya nila, ‘yong mga sinasabi n’yong mahirap gawin, magagawa namin dahil walang hindi kaya ang mga babae.”
When it comes to the main lesson she learned while doing the series, she stated, “Sa buhay, hindi sa lahat kailangan mong mag-revenge. Parang may ibang positive way ng revenge.”
Maja’s exceptional performance in the series brought her tremendous recognitions from various award-giving bodies, such as Best Actress trophies from Gawad Tanglaw Awards, GMMSF Box Office Entertainment Award, Asian Academy Creative Awards (National), and 1st Asian Contents Awards, and nominations from Asian Academy Creative Awards (Asia) and Asian Television Awards (Asia).
