It usually takes a village to mount a teleserye as big as Walang Hanggang Paalam. But with the pandemic limiting the workforce, production teams have to stretch their creativity and innovate under the “new normal” taping guidelines. Nonetheless, the series managed to keep up with all the restrictions and even pull off spectacular action-packed scenes courtesy of lead actor Paulo Avelino shown in the pilot week.
The pilot episode of Walang Hanggang Paalam showed Emman (Paulo Avelino) in an intense clash against his colleague Dexter (Jake Cuenca) in the streets of Binondo, Manila. This would turn out as a pivotal element in the story.
Emman, a dignified family man and agent, tried to halt Dexter’s robbery attempt, leading in a heart-stopping chase and fight scene featuring the city’s exotic beauty as backdrop. That whole sequence was shot prior to the pandemic, thus they were free to explore the streets while all the succeeding scenes were done under the “new normal” lock-in taping.
Emman was wrongfully accused and has served time. Years after, he got to start all over again but another series of trouble would spark anew just as when he’s trying to get back on his feet. His son, Robbie (Robbie Wachtel) was abducted, straining his relationship with ex-partner, Celine (Angelica Panganiban).
The series gave viewers another wild ride that kicked off with Emman chasing after Robbie’s kidnappers. Paulo drew audiences in by serving them with arresting stunts. His attempt to save Robbie resulted in a shootout, with him sustaining a gunshot wound.
As he scrutinized the pieces of evidence, Emman had a clue about his son’s whereabouts, opening up a slew of heart-thumping series of events. A breathtaking action scene ensued at the yacht port as he located the abductors’ hiding place. The suspects tried to escape with Robbie. So, Emman hijacked a motorboat and sped away while engaging in a thrilling gun battle with Dexter’s group. Emman’s silent yet big emotions as he recognized his former colleague added more to the scene’s gripping appeal.
Finally, Emman reached the enemies’ hideout and struggled with Dexter and the latter’s men in a fight scene smoothly executed amid the pandemic.
Viewers will surely find themselves sitting at the edge of their seats as Walang Hanggang Paalam stuns with more heart-stopping action in the coming episodes, weeknights, on Kapamilya Channel and Kapamilya Online Live.
