Apart from the villainous Hernandez family, Emman (Paulo Avelino) found another enemy in Linda (Lotlot de Leon), his ex-girlfriend Celine (Angelica Panganiban)’s mother, who despises him to bits. In this Kapamilya Toplist, we are about to dig deeper into the roots of Linda’s hatred towards Emman and his family in Walang Hanggang Paalam.
She hated him since the beginning and it grew more when he got into jail. The horn’s effect got so real that even his release was not enough to soothe her malevolence. She believes Emman was freed thanks to connections and not because of a wrongful accusation.
Linda had another reason to curse Emman when her grandson Robbie (Robbie Wachtel) was abducted while under his care in the province of Alcala. She blamed Emman as the cause of all her family’s trouble, pointing out that the kidnapping would not happen if he didn’t ask the child to come over.
A mother will always have a lot to say about her child’s life. Her intention is just to protect her from harm and bring her to the right path. But, does a mother know best all the time? What if she’s also manipulated into believing all the lies that actually put her daughter’s life in danger?
While Linda loathes Emman to the core, she likes everything about Anton (Zanjoe Marudo), Celine’s fiancé. She told Celine many times over to stop listening to Emman and rely on Anton’s promises instead. She said Anton’s social connections and genuine concern for Robbie will help them save the kid, clueless that the man she perceives as a hero is the real mastermind behind the abduction.
Linda would even appear insensitive to Celine’s emotional stress, telling her to focus on her relationship with Anton amid Robbie’s search. “Hindi si Emman ang dapat iniisip mo. Si Anton ang dapat iniisip mo, isang mabuting tao na handa kayong bigyan ng magandang kinabukasan ng apo ko, at hindi ‘yang si Emman na puro problema na lang ang binigay sa’yo,” she told her.
There was a scene where Linda chided Emman straight up, “Alam mo ba kung gaano ako kasaya na naghiwalay kayo ng anak ko?” Not even Celine was able to stop her mom from mocking Emman and calling him a curse. Linda emphasized that Celine’s life became a living nightmare because of him unlike Anton who used to bring them aid.
She would confront Emman and his father, Nick (Ronnie Lazaro), even in public places. Flying into a rage upon the sight of the Salvadors, Linda blamed Emman for her daughter’s misery over and over again. She even told Nick, “Ayaw ko sa anak mo para sa anak ko!”
There came a point where the overprotectiveness and blinded devotion to the Hernandezes ignited an argument with Celine. She stressed that Emman will only bring Celine harm but the latter has known better. Celine realized Emman’s innocence and his plans are actually working, forcing her to push Linda out of the way.
However, there was a time when Linda’s blind insight prompted her to protect the Hernandezes at all cost. She stormed to the Salvadors’ abode and confronted them about their accusations against the Hernandezes, calling the latter upright and Celine’s true family.
