Paulo Avelino’s remarkable run as a sought-after Kapamilya teleserye leading man

In his nine years of being a certified Kapamilya, Paulo Avelino has absolutely proven that he’s indeed more than just a handsome face as he is able to consistently astound us with his acting impeccable prowess and versatility through his television and movie portrayals.

As he’s yet to amaze us anew with his sure-fire stint in the upcoming Kapamilya Channel series Walang Hanggang Paalam as the tough yet loving dad Emman, let’s revisit first his remarkable TV journey through this feature.

On his transfer in 2011, he was immediately bestowed the role of Teddy Ledesma, a happy-go-lucky guy who taught viewers the value of forgiveness in the primetime drama 100 Days To Heaven. It was then succeeded by his appearances on Wansapantaym: Cocoy Shokoy, the “Liham” episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya, and the family drama Ikaw Ay Pag-ibig.

The talented heartthrob then went on to play the antagonist Nathan Montenegro in the 2012 classic series Walang Hanggan. A year after, he starred in the romance-comedy series Kahit Konting Pagtingin alongside Angeline Quinto and Sam Milby as the charming and meek Lance Ledesma, and in the fantasy family drama Honesto as the titular character’s scheming biological dad Diego Layer. He also appeared in two episodes of MMK – “Notebook” and “Mask”.

Paulo truly made us swoon when he played Patrick Salvador in the 2014 primetime soap opera Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon, and went on to do so in his next portrayals the following year.

He taught us that family is one of the best and most precious gifts we could ever receive through his character Christian in the mini daytime series Give Love on Christmas: The Exchange Gift

In the romance drama Bridges of Love, which he top-billed alongside Maja Salvador and Jericho Rosales, his character Carlo Antonio/JR Nakpil made us realize that genuine love can indeed melt a heart of stone.

The 32-year-old actor then continued to enthrall us with his special role as Simon Evangelista, the handsome domineering yet soft-hearted boss of Nadine Lustre’s Leah in the top-rating series On The Wings Of Love.

Among the characters he took on in the recent years, the most challenging probably was his stint in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano in 2016 as the mentally-challenged Eric/Erwin Maniego who sought vengeance against SPO2 Ricardo Dalisay (Coco Martin) after his family got killed by the upright cop. It was followed by his starring stint in Wansapnataym: Santi Cruz Is Coming To Town as the titular character.

In 2017, he charmed as with his team-up with Ritz Azul in the afternoon soap opera The Promise Of Forever, depicting an immortal man named Lorenzo Espinosa, who was able to live and love the same girl over and over again despite getting killed a number of times throughout his life.

The following year, Paulo once again starred in another drama slated in the Kapamilya Gold block through Asintado, playing the role of a romantic and obsessed lawyer-model Gael Ojeda.

And last year, he truly amazed us with his unmistakable flair in action when he depicted Franco Segismundo, the dependable wingman-turned-love interest of the titular character Rhian Bonifacio played by Angel Locsin in the primetime action drama The General’s Daughter.

We may be in the middle of a terrible pandemic, but Paulo is here to save us by serving us anew with his compelling performance in the newest teleserye offering of Kapamilya Channel and Kapamilya Online LiveWalang Hanggang Paalam – that will start this coming September 28!
