As the whole world faces the darkest times, we still have the Man above and each other to keep our lights and joy burning – this inspiring message shines deep in the ABS-CBN 2020 Christmas ID titled “Liwanag at Ligaya.” 

To spread the message of how we can be a light to others, the music video featured heartwarming stories of hope from Kapamilyas in different parts of the Philippines. The lead stars of Walang Hanggang Paalam – Angelica Panganiban, Paulo Avelino, Arci Munoz, and Zanjoe Marudo – pass on the light and joy to the Aeta community in Bataan.

With the pandemic leaving a huge impact on education, tribal villages are even more challenged by the lack of access to online classes. The lack of digital materials and television reception makes distance learning a challenge.  

But despite the scarcity of resources, nothing can dull the indigenous tribe’s strong desire for learning. 

So, sans gadgets and internet, the stars of Walang Hanggang Paalam reintroduced an alternative way by bringing reading materials as Christmas gifts to the young Aetas. 

The community brimmed with joy over the simple presents. Knowing that education is vital in building the country and their tribe’s future, one of the elders said about the students, “Darating ang araw, sila na ang nag-opisina at ang bansa ay paunlad na.”    

Just like the ordinary Kapamilyas featured in the ABS-CBN Christmas ID, we can also spread love and joy to others. And this season of light is one of the best times to brighten other people’s lives just by simple acts wrapped in kindness and cheerful giving.
