With her blind devotion to the Hernandez family, it was so easy to hate Linda (Lotlot de Leon), Celine (Angelica Panganiban)’s mother who favored Anton (Zanjoe Marudo) over Emman (Paulo Avelino). But tables turned following the Hernandez matriarch Araceli (Sherry Lara) arrest. Finally enlightened about the family’s true colors, Linda is now on Emman’s side as shown in these scenes from Walang Hanggang Paalam.
Just a quick refresher, Linda hated Emman since the beginning. She didn’t like him for Celine. The horn’s effect grew all the more when he got into jail and when Robbie (Robbie Wachtel) was abducted under his care. She thought she had all the privilege to mock him and his family.
She had a change of heart, though when the mastermind behind Robbie’s abduction was finally revealed. Araceli’s arrest and confession about her involvement in the child and organ trafficking syndicate served as an eye-opener for Linda. Finally, she vindicated Emman from all her accusations. She even humbly apologized for her rude behavior in the past.
She used to worship the Hernandezes but the truth suddenly put her loyalty on Emman. Now, she’s even dubious of anything Anton and Amelia (Cherry Pie Picache) say. Linda is now open about the possibility of Emman and Celine rekindling their relationship, hinted at that scene where she stressed that it was Celine who gave up on Emman in the past. Linda now sympathizes with Emman.
She finally said, “Wala na akong tiwala kay Anton.” There were days in the past when Linda would even tell Celine to focus on her relationship with Anton amid Robbie’s search. Leave it behind because that’s the last thing she’d like to happen now. She would even remind Celine to never buy Anton’s lies again and to never get near him.
Gone were the days when Linda would rely on Anton’s promises. She now would drive him away and turn deaf to his pleas. In a scene, she also pointed out that his family took a lot of innocent children’s lives, not just that of Robbie.
Another sign of forgiveness is empathy. Linda now understands Emman’s intention to protect Celine. She finally understands where his actions and decisions are coming. She finally appreciates Emman putting his own life at risk for her beloved daughter and grandson.
After treating the Salvadors with cold and harsh behavior, Linda learned to be more humble towards the people truly concerned for Celine. She also apologized to Emman’s father, Nick (Ronnie Lazaro) and the latter would humbly forgive and forget.
How will Linda be of help to Emman and Celine’s crusade for justice? Don’t miss an episode of Walang Hanggang Paalam weeknights on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
