Out of the 83 gorgeous women from different countries who vied for the most coveted Miss Universe 2022 crown during its 71st staging held on January 15, Sunday (Manila time) at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center, only 16 made it to the swimsuit and evening gown competition.
And that number further dwindled as only five candidates made it to the next round. The first one to be called was Miss Venezuela Amanda Dudamel, who believes that we are capable of being united and raising our voices to the universe. Second was Miss USA R’Bonney Gabriel, who thinks that each of us are born with unique talent and a purpose, and it’s up to us to unlock it.
Next was Miss Puerto Rico Ashley Cariño, who said how incredible what one can accomplish if we believe in our dreams. Miss Curacao Gabriela Dos Santos was fourth, who reminded us that adversities are present because they are meant to make us stronger. And lastly, Miss Dominican Republic Andreina Martinez, who stated that winning Miss Universe would be the greatest example that one’s background does not determine your future, but your courage and determination do.
