Taking a break from the drama and action every weeknight, the cast of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano traded their firearms with microphones and had a truce as they graced this year’s “Andito Tayo Para Sa Isa’t Isa Christmas Special” of ABS-CBN.
Avid fans of the Coco Martin-Julia Montes tandem, fondly called CocoJul, were surely delighted to see them grace the two-night event hand-in-hand. They made us kilig with their rendition of the iconic 2009 Christmas ID anthem “Bro, Ikaw Ang Star Ng Pasko”.
Coco then brought us back to the old times as he performed the Hotdog hit “Manila” alongside rappers Smugglaz and Bassilyo.
We further travelled back in time as veteran actors Jaime Fabregas, Tirso Cruz III, and Roi Vinzon sang Hagibis’ “Ilagay Mo Kid” as the younger male cast members showcased their dancing skills.
Of course, seasoned actors Michael de Mesa, John Estrada, Raymart Santiago, and Michael Flores did not let their group be left behind as they rocked the stage with “Beep Beep” by Juan Dela Cruz Band.
The gorgeous and talented ladies, which comprised by Angel Aquino, Ara Mina, Vangie Labalan, Whitney Tyson, Shaina Magdayao, and Julia Montes also bust the moves they’ve got in grooving to another Hotdog hit “Bongga Ka Day,” which was eventually sang by the one and only Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
She then went on to perform “Sumayaw, Sumunod” by The Boyfriends, to which Rosanna Roces, John Arcilla, Lorna Tolentino, and Rowell Santiago danced in pairs.
They wrapped up their lively, fun, and nostalgic set by singing a Filipino Christmas song as a way of greeting our Kapamilyas all over the world “Maligayang Pasko”.
The ensemble cast also had the chance to have their photo taken as a family and with the ABS-CBN executives, the staff and crew of this Christmas special, and the dancers that brought life to their awesome number.
Indeed, the FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano cast proves that we can set aside misunderstandings and atrocities for the meantime this Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Merry Christmas, Kapamilya!
