The 2019 ABS-CBN Ball is already one of the most memorable nights in show business. It was a celebration of culture, hope for the youth, and the Kapamilya network’s 65 years in the service of the Filipino. The best part was how many stars gathered together to support the Ball’s cause in their modern interpretations of the Filipiniana and Barong.
As expected, the hottest love teams made our hearts flutter. Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber’s matching Furne One creations were inspired by the Manila Cathedral. Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil ensembles were both inspired by the detailing on barongs. Nadine Lustre’s bold red gown complimented James Reid’s minimalist suit that donned the colors of the Philippine flag. Kathryn Bernardo was sultry in her pink gown that paid homage to Philippine indigenous prints while Daniel Padilla combined the barong with a suit made from Benguet fabric.
Of course, the cast from your favorite ABS-CBN teleseryes did not miss out on the fun. Kadenang Ginto’s Gold Squad Andrea Brillantes, Seth Fedelin, Francine Diaz and Kyle Echarri looked like they belonged in a fairytale. Dimples Romana wore Daniela’s signature color—red. Beauty Gonzalez came in a Carrie Santiago piece that had a large avian detail that spanned her shoulder to waist.
From The General’s Daughter, couple Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte walked the red carpet hand in hand. Eula Valdez and Ryza Cenon were also together. Albert Martinez, JC de Vera, Paulo Avelino, Arjo Atayde and Maricel Soriano were also present.
Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit’s RK Bagatsing, Kaye Abad, Shaina Magdayao, Cristine Reyes, Keempee de Leon, Matet de Leon, Enzo Pineda and Michelle Vito were all smiles as they took a break from all the drama.
Jake Cuenca and Kylie Verzosa’s quick smooch must have excited fans. Gloria Diaz, Mary Joy Apostol, Maxine Medina and Ritz Azul looked stunning. Joshua Colet, Albie Casiño, Joseph Marco and Marco Gumabao looked dapper. This night must have been a special bonding experience for the Los Bastardos cast since their teleserye is nearing its conclusion.
It’s Showtime hosts Anne Curtis, Jhong Hilario and Vhong Navarro were part of the party. Stephen Robles was accompanied by Ultimate BidaMan Jin Macapagal. Ate Girl Jackque Gonzaga claimed the spotlight for herself. Meanwhile, Vice Ganda did not disappoint in her 1930’s Manila Carnival Queen inspired bejeweled dress. Conceptualized by stylist Liz Uy, this was also a collaboration between Neric Beltran and Paul Cabral.
The Killer Bride lead stars Janella Salvador, Joshua Garcia, Geoff Eigenmann and Maja Salvador served drop dead gorgeous looks on the red carpet.
Lie Reposposa, Ashley del Mundo, Kaori Oinuma, Kira Takahashi, Lou Yanong, Andre Brouilette, Fumiya Sankai and Big Winner Yamyam Gucong all represented Pinoy Big Brother Otso.
Metro’s Best Dressed Female Bea Alonzo, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurztbach and the new “Darna” Jane De Leon were also present, among many others.
