The advent of social media has indeed made it easier for us to connect with our loved ones and other people from different parts of the world and to share and spread various contents in just a few clicks. However, it’s not all the time that we see good and factual stuff on our newsfeeds as we could spot malicious, outrageous, and offensive contents, such as scandals. And that’s where ABS-CBN’s upcoming teleserye “Viral Scandal” will revolve around.
In the full trailer released on Tuesday, October 19, award-winning actress Charlie Dizon takes on the challenging role of Rica, a fierce and optimistic young woman who would be the main subject of a sensitive video that went viral online. This debacle terribly took a toll on the once peaceful and simple life of her and her family, as she became the subject of bullying and spiteful comments from people around her and those who were able to see her scandal on social media.
Amidst the controversy, her family never left her side to defend her, as her father Dan (Miko Raval) and her younger brother Miko (Louise Abuel) fought against those who would slur insults at Rica. Her OFW mother Kakay (Dimples Romana) decided to immediately come home to personally protect and support for her distraught daughter, who he firmly believes is just a victim in this horrible crime because she knows how determined she is to accomplish her apprenticeship and pass the board exams to finally become an architect.
As the situation gets more depressing, Rica apparently attempts to end her own life by jumping off a structure. Thankfully, Joshua Garcia’s character Kyle was there to stop and save her, and he would later on become her trusted friend and protector.
“Viral Scandal” is produced by RCD Narratives and helmed by brilliant directors Dado C. Lumibao and Froy Allan P. Leonardo. This also stars Jake Cuenca, Maxene Magalona, Jameson Blake, Markus Peterson, Ria Atayde, Aljon Mendoza, Karina Bautista, Louise Abuel, Kaila Estrada, Vance Larena, Gian Magdangal, Arielle Roces, and Aya Fernandez. It is set to premiere this November 15.
