There is no question that Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber are two of the biggest stars today. Whether it is on the big or small screen, they have fans at the edge of their seats. While the two have proven that they can stand out individually, it is their love team as MayWard that has won over the hearts of many Kapamilyas. So, we decided to compile their best and most kilig filled scenes in Star Cinema movies—“
Da One That Ghost Away,” “
Fantastica” and “
Loving in Tandem.”
Starting off with 2018’s “
Da One That Ghost Away,” the Kim Chiu and Ryan Bang led movie promised viewers a mix of comedy and horror. With the addition of MayWard to the cast, naturally you can also expect some young romance even.
Watching Chire try to keep his true feelings for Serrah a secret was too adorable. From stealing glances and admiring that person from a far to attempting to confess, anyone who has ever had a secret crush can relate. Still, we cannot help but rejoice when Chire finally asked to court Serrah. Her expression probably matched everyone else in the cinema at that moment.
That same year, the tandem was included in the star-studded cast of “
Fantastica.” The Metro Manila Film Festival entry was headlined by the Unkabogable Vice Ganda, Richard Gomez, Dingdong Dantes among other A-list celebrities. Yet, MayWard proved that nothing can outshine their chemistry.
Princess Maulani and Junjun’s first encounter was both sweet and intense. Who knew they could pull off a fight scene? In the end, the Princess could win over anyone with her finger heart finishing move. This has to be one of the most talked moments in the movie.
Last but certainly not least, how can we forget the one that started it all for Mayward? 2017’s
“Loving in Tandem” was Maymay and Edward’s first acting project after being housemates on
Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7. As their introduction, this romantic comedy served up different levels of kilig for ever loyal fan.
From Shine and Luke meeting for the first time to Luke talking about what he loves about the Philippines when in fact we all know he was talking about Shine, every moment was a fangirl/fanboy moment. The innocent kisses they had was filled with love. And then there is the big declaration, when Luke made it official to the whole community that Shine is his “
jowa”. This gesture has to be at the top of this list.
These are our favorite scenes of Maymay and Edward on Star Cinema movies. Surely, they will have more for us in the future. For now, can you think of others we might have missed?
