After teasing us with the fun yet intense script reading of the cast members few weeks ago, Dreamscape Entertainment recently gave us an exclusive sneak peek on the set of The Broken Marriage Vow through the latest video uploaded in the ABS-CBN Entertainment official YouTube channel.
Aside from providing us a truly remarkable story that is based on the British series “Doctor Foster” and a pool of star-studded ensemble cast, the much-awaited series will also bring us to one of the most beautiful places in the Philippines amid the travel restrictions because of the pandemic – Baguio City!
The actors arrived at their bubble one-by-one led by Jodi Sta. Maria, who portrays the role of Dr. Jillian Ilustre. Gorgeous in her black maxi dress and stylishly combed-hair, she expressed how nervous she was that made her lose her appetite. The same went for her on-screen rival Sue Ramirez, who’s about to agitate viewers as the seductive mistress Lexy Lucero, as she uttered how nervous she was when asked how she felt upon arriving at their hotel.
Their leading man Zanjoe Marudo, on the other hand, jestingly complained how the hours-long trip caused him backpain.Zaijian Jaranilla, meanwhile, disclosed how excited he is to shoot his first scene since that is where the story will begin to unfold according to him.
Apart from them, Jane Oineza, Joem Bascon, Art Acuña, MalouCrisologo, Susan Africa, Ronnie Lazaro, and Franco Laurel also showed their excitement over the beginning of their lock-in taping.
We also got a glimpse of the staff’s production meeting, the exterior and interior of their scenic taping location, as well as of the pieces that the cast are going to wear that the costume designers and Director Connie Macatuno meticulously curated.
In an article published by Metro.style last May, the The Broken Marriage Vow is described as “a game-changer when it comes to their fashion” as it will showcase slew of proudly Filipino brands, designers, and craftsmanship through the cast’s wardrobe.
“I wanted to show a distinct look of the contemporary Filipina now and how we can strengthen the new way of wearing local,” Direk Connie said in that feature, who tags the ensemble’s overall look as Urban Filipina as it combines modern silhouette and local weaves and textures from the clothes, jewelries, and accessories, up to the footwear.
The top-caliber director, who’s behind the 2018 controversial movie “Glorious” and the Precious Hearts Romances narrativesThe Substitute Bride (2010) and Paraiso (2012), is very much hands-on to the camera rehearsals and particular to the artists’ blocking as she guides the cast and crew herself.
And since Baguio is not only famous as the “Summer Capital of the Philippines”, but as a part of UNESCO’s “Creative City of Crafts and Folks Art” network, we can notice as well how the set is filled with pieces apparently crafted by talented artisans in the region and other parts of the country.
ABS-CBN has not yet announced the exact date of The Broken Marriage Vow’s premiere, but avid Kapamilya viewers have been looking forward on finally seeing it soon!
