Watch as Lovi Poe finally answers the most searched questions about her on the internet!
Lovi Poe and Janine Gutierrez will impart eye-opening lessons as interabled lovers out to break free from the constraints of society in iWantTFC’s newest original offering, “Sleep with Me.”
“Sleep with Me” is a queer female love story which won the Audience Award for Best Episodic when it made its world premiere last July 19 as a selection in the Episodes section of the 40th Outfest LGBTQ+ Film Festival in Los Angeles. Tickets to the premiere, which was attended by Lovi and director Samantha Lee, quickly sold out.
The series revolves around Harry (Janine), a late-night radio DJ who gives relationship advice and uses a wheelchair, and Luna (Lovi), a girl who suffers from a sleep disorder that only allows her to fall asleep during the day.
Aside from the tender love story between the two female leads, the story will also shed light on the social injustices experienced by those who are not able-bodied, heteronormative individuals.
“I think Janine and Lovi’s characters both have their own set of issues that they deal with, that makes them excluded from society at large. It’s about people’s stories that don’t get told a lot,” direk Samantha, who is also known for her queer films “Baka Bukas” and “Billie and Emma,” said in a previous interview.
“The story is really something that I don’t think has been shown in the Filipino setting. I’m so excited for people to learn more about this topic and alam kong madaming makaka-relate. And at the core, it’s a love story na talagang you’ll get attached to and it will make you feel things,” Janine added.
