“Kahit walang nangyari, papanindigan mo kung ano ‘yung pinaniniwalaan ng puso mo,” Moira dela Torre described her upcoming concert, “Braver”, on September 13 at the Araneta Coliseum. She compared her first major show, “Tagpuan”, to Autumn which symbolizes the beginning of a journey by letting go of the old. Now, her second will be the Winter which brings many challenges. But she is stronger and braver. The OPM singer hopes to share this mindset to her listeners because Winter is always followed by Spring.
What led to this momentous moment? Apparently, it was Asia’s Songbird who inspired her to write her own music in the first place. The reason is simply because she could not sing Regine Velasquez’s high notes. So, she opted to perform her own. “Mama Reg, thank you because dahil sa taas ng boses mo napasulat ako ng sarili kong kanta,” she added. Out of all her originals, her absolute favorite is “Promise” which was her wedding vows. “I wrote that at 4am on the day of my wedding,” she revealed.
Since then, she spent years trying to build a career and even joined The Voice of The Philippines back in 2013. For her, Andra Day’s “Rise Up” is the perfect winning piece for a contest. If given a choice, however, she would rather be the judge than be a contestant which she fulfilled on Idol Philippines. It was a great way to start off 2019 and she intends to end it with a blast. Aside from “Braver”, she has an upcoming book that will tell the story behind her songs.
“Thank you because you trust me enough to walk through life with you, through my music,” Moira dela Torre expressed her gratitude to her loyal supporters. Sharing all this information on Kapamilya Confessions was also her way of expressing appreciation. The best part is that there is more! She took on the Face It Sing It Challenge where she sang her message for Vice Ganda, Daniel Padilla, Sam Milby and more close friends from showbiz.
