To wrap up the second fund-raising activity of ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN Foundation’s Operation Odette, Kapamilya heartthrob Luis Manzano invited comedians Negi, Lassy, and MC to join him in the fun challenges.
The previous nights were full of ‘kilig’ and juicy revelations. This time, Luis and his squad just brought us loads of good vibes, hilarity, and surprises.
Before taking on the truth-or-dare questions, they must reach the target milestone or amount of diamonds donated to the live streaming app KUMU. For the first challenge, Luis was asked the sweetest thing he did for a girl. It was pulling off a romantic marriage proposal to now-wife Jessy Mendiola. There were jitters, of course, but it was very special.
Next up, the sweetest text messages on their phones! Luis read sweet nothings from his wife, which a portion of says, “This will be our first wedding anniversary.” The fact that Jessy remembers and is excited about it makes it special enough. “Nakaka-touch at nakakakilig na kumbaga hindi mo aakalain na aabot ng one year kayong mag-asawa. ‘Yung reminder na ‘yun, ‘yung pinaplano namin, that's so sweet, na para sa kanya alam mong napaka-special.”
While it continued to rain diamonds on Kumu, Luis and his squad showered viewers with rib-tickling jokes as well - be it about their love life, their wish to have a new show, and even hosts Melai Cantiveros and Alora Sasam were not spared from the punchlines.
The most requested “Jojowain o Totropahin” Challenge was one of the episode’s highlights. Luis begged off and jested that his wife Jessy was watching. So, only Lassy, Negi, and MC took on the dare. But here’s the catch: they must speak in male voices while reacting to the names of actresses mentioned in the game.
Of course, they didn’t run out of humor like when Catriona Gray was mentioned, MC answered, “Jojowain kasi gusto ko ‘yung gown na ginamit niya. Masukat ko man lang.” On Anne Curtis, Lassy replied, “Totropahin kasi crush ko si Erwan [Heussaff].” Lassy answered “jojowain” for Angeline Quinto as well. Also in the list are Chie Filomeno, Ivana Alawi, Jodi Sta. Maria, Pia Wurtzbach, and Angelica Panganiban.
Negi, MC and Lassy liked the second round, which mentioned names of Kapamilya heartthrobs beginning with Joshua Garcia. The Viral Scandal leading man has a strong appeal, so much so Luis was prompted to respond, “Kahit ako, jojowain ko ‘yan si Joshua.” Paulo Avelino swept three “jojowain” responses as well.
The comedians made fun of their friend Chad Kinis, as well as Melai and Alora who were all mentioned in the game. “Kung si Melai at Alora lang, mamalengke na lang tayo sa Cubao. Mas fresh pa d’on ang isda,” quipped MC. Meanwhile, they had the sweetest things to say when asked if Luis is “jojowain o totropahin.”
At one point, Luis called his mom Vilma Santos for a quick banter. The Star for All Seasons pledged a total of Php 100, 000 for the victims of Typhoon Odette.
On the “Never Have I Ever” Challenge, Luis owned up to dating someone 10 years younger because Jessy is 12 years younger than him. He’s guilty of doing crazy things while drunk but that was long ago. He also said he was invited to dance at a shower party before.
Playing more challenges, the trio of Lassy, Negi, and MC re-enacted Sharon Cuneta and Cherie Gil’s iconic scene in “Bituing Walang Ningning,” danced to Hagibis’ “Katawan,” demoed how to ask a girl if she likes you back, and revealed their sexiest photos on their phones.
For the ultimate diamond challenge, Luis and the I Can See Your Voice singvestigators must dance to the tune of “Bulaklak” ala ASAP Kanto Boys, Luis’ former group with Billy Crawford, Vhong Navarro, and John Lloyd Cruz.
As usual, Luis showcased his brand of comedy.
Ayoko maging mayabang. Honest lang.”
What a great, amusing night to wrap up “Truth or Dare!”
