Featured artist BGYO opened the 7th night of “Truth or Dare” with a performance of “Isn’t She Lovely.” It was a lovely night indeed as the beloved P-Pop group entertained ACES and Kapamilyas for a good cause that is to raise money for Typhoon Odette survivors.
BGYO members Gelo, JL, MIkki, Akira, and Nate raked in millions of KUMU diamond donations in a flash (a total of 5 million diamonds by the end of the show). Proof of BGYO’s positive influence – and charisma! As in the previous nights, the guest stars took on truth-or-dare questions for every ‘milestone’ or target amount of diamonds.
BGYO also engaged in challenges that reveal their soft hearts like when asked to show their latest vacation photos, the boys got ‘senti’ talking about their families. In the snaps, Akira helped fix his brother’s necktie at the latter’s wedding, Nate had golf time with the fambam, JL introduced his new dog, Mikki went on a Batangas getaway, while Gelo took a selfie with his mom before leaving for the BGYO house.
They went on to share the sweetest things they did for their moms. The youngest, Nate, made his mom feel special with flowers. Akira made his mom cry happy tears with his surprise homecoming. JL gifted his mom with a brand new television set from his hard-earned money. It somewhat symbolizes the fruit of their perseverance. For Mikki, it feels good to finally be able to give back now. Gelo recalled when his family struggled financially that whenever they had no electricity, he’d fan his parents until they fall asleep. He also helped pay his sibling’s tuition fee.
As expected, the night wouldn’t be complete without the most requested “Jojowain o Totropahin” Challenge. Akira answered “jojowain” for Francine Diaz because their moms are close friends. Mikki also finds her “jowable.” JL thought it’d be nice to have Zephanie Dimaranan as a girlfriend for endless jamming.
When AC Bonifacio’s name was mentioned, hosts Alora Sasam and Melai Cantiveros kept teasing Nate, who struggled to reveal his answer. “Jojowain” almost slipped out but Nate settled for “totropahin” as the final answer. From there, Nate was requested to call AC, who is currently in Canada.
The conversation was cute and super kilig! AC didn’t mind waking up at 6 am to pick up Nate’s call. Here’s a snippet of their convo:
Nate: “Good morning! Are you okay? Did you dream of me?”
AC: “What? Ang aga-aga!” *laughs*
Nate: “I miss you.”
AC: *laughs* “Eww! Stop!”
Nate: “What do you mean stop? I really miss you.”
AC: *laughs* “Ay! Diyos ko! Stop!”
Nate: “What’s up? I can’t miss you?”
Then, prompted by the hosts, Nate asked when she’s coming back to the Philippines.
Nate: “When will you come home?”
AC: *laughs*
Nate: “Why are you laughing?”
AC: “Kasi nagtatanong ka ng alam mo!”
Nate revealed they’re live on KUMU for “Truth or Dare.” And based on how the conversation went, Alora and Melai commented that the two seem to be constantly checking up on each other.
With knock-knock jokes in between, the boys also took on fun challenges for Kapamilyas and legions of ACES. They looked into the camera as if asking someone to be their girlfriend and recreated their cutest baby photos. Gelo showed off his own version of the “Spaghetti” dance. Mikki made impromptu rap verses that mention names of three ACES. Akihiro talked in Nihongo. Nate described his feelings through a dance.
It rained performances as well. JL sang Daniel Padilla’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love.” Akira and JL serenaded viewers with “Panalangin.” The boys also performed “Light” but had to switch parts. And at the end of the episode, BGYO dared Carlo Aquino, Jerome Ponce, and Nikko Natividad to take on the next batch of exciting questions and challenges on “Truth or Dare.”
Watch out for Carlo, Jerome, and Nikko, and more Kapamilya heartthrobs on “Truth or Dare,” 8 p.m. on FYE Channel on Kumu, ABS-CBN Entertainment Facebook page and YouTube channel, iWantTFC, and SKYcable Channel 955 HD and Channel 155 SD until January 28.
“Truth or Dare” benefit interactive show series is the second fund-raising activity of ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN Foundation’s “Tulong-Tulong sa Pag-ahon: Isang Daan Sa Pagtutulungan” for the benefit of typhoon Odette survivors.
