The ABS-CBN Ball last year helped reopen the Bantay Bata 163 Children’s Village to give rescued children the needed shelter to start their lives anew. Now, the highly anticipated 2019 staging of the grand celebrity event will focus on supporting these kids’ education needs and making their dreams come true with its continued partnership with ABS-CBN Foundation’s social welfare program.
With this, we asked some of our lovely Kapamilya stars this question:
“Since the 2019 ABS-CBN Ball is for the benefit of Bantay Bata’s education program, for you, how important is education? Given a chance, how can you help out?”
Kira Balinger, who we will soon see as Lemon Jane in the upcoming family drama series Pamilya Ko, emphasized that education is “not a privilege, it’s a human right.” To fight for this right, she told us that donating to charities is a good way to help put up schools or facilities where children can gather and do countless learning activities.
Singer-songwriter Leila Alcasid said that education is actually one of her “personal advocacies”, which is why she really want to help in any way she can. For her, visiting schools is one way to help aside from donating. In addition, one good way to start helping in the fight for education is by going to the ball, which she sees is a “big help” because it gives them the opportunity to donate.
Michelle Vito and Kisses Delavin both shared that “the best way to help is by starting with yourself, so you can help others”. Amid their busy schedule on their respective careers in the showbiz industry, these gorgeous ladies shared that they are currently juggling their career and their studies. Michelle and Kisses hope to make a huge contribution to this cause in the future because “everyone deserves the opportunity to be educated”.
“Totoo ‘yong kasabihan na ‘yon lang ‘yong maipapamana ng magulang”, says Star Magic artist Charlie Dizon. In her own little ways, she considers donating notebooks and footwear that less fortunate children can use is one good step to help fight for education.
Beauty queen Maxine Medina who we currently see as Isay on Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Los Bastardos, said education is important because every child has his or her own unique experiences. In those experiences, either good or bad, we don’t know if they are properly guided. Thus, she sees this ball as a good way to help raise funds to help equip and empower the youth by building learning facilities for them, which they can also see as their home.
Finally, actress Sharlene San Pedro, stated that education is a chance to be a “better version of ourselves”. As she continues to grow, Sharlene realized the importance of education in achieving this. As such, she said she would take another course after finishing her current one.
The Filipiniana-themed, advocacy-driven ABS-CBN Ball 2019 will take place on Saturday, September 14, for the benefit of Bantay Bata 163’s Bantay Edukasyon program.
