ABS-CBN unveiled a diverse entertainment lineup for 2017 at the “Isang Pamilya Tayo Ngayon: The ABS-CBN Christmas Trade Event” held at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City last November 22 (Tuesday).
The slate of new shows is composed of a romance story, a thriller revenge drama, a family-centric teleserye, a supernatural series, a romcom movie, kilig Koreanovelas, and stimulating reality shows.
Star Cinema revealed its upcoming movie offering for the first quarter of 2017, “My Ex and Whys,” starring Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano. The rom-com film shows a different Enrique as he portrays the character of a womanizer while Liza, on the other hand, will be unleashing her quirky side.
Maja Salvador will star in a revenge-drama series entitled “Wildflower” together with Joseph Marco, Sunshine Cruz, Aiko Melendez, Tirso Cruz III, and Wendell Ramos.
“The Promise of Forever,” which focuses on defining eternal love, will be starred by new Kapamilya star Ritz Azul, Paulo Avelino, and Ejay Falcon.
Fans and followers of KimErald are up for a treat as Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson will once again be paired with each other in the new show “Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin.” The show marks the first pairing of Chiu and Anderson since the 2012 romcom film “24/7 in Love.” Coleen Garcia, Jake Cuenca, and Helen Gamboa will join the two in the series.
“My Dear Heart” will offer the story of pure love that revolves around family values which will surely tug every viewer’s heart. Connie Reyes, Zanjoe Marudo, Bela Padilla, Rio Locsin, Joey Marquez, Loisa Andalio, and newest child star Nayomi Reyes will star the show.
Bea Alonzo and Ian Veneracion, for the first time, will be teamed up for the teleserye “A Love To Last.” The show will boldly tell the story of the modern families of today. Iza Calzado, Enchong Dee, Julia Barretto, and JK Labajo will join the two.
ABS-CBN will bring back to life its supernatural series following “Imortal” and “Lobo” through the newest program “La Luna Sangre” to be top-billed by Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
The Kapamilya network successfully acquired rights to two Koreanovelas. The most-awaited Korean drama top-billed by the break-out love team of 2016 in Korea (Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun) “Legend of the Blue Sea,” and, the coming-of-age and young romance story “Love in the Moonlight” starring Park Bo-gum, Kim Yoo Jung, Jin Young, Kwak-Dong-yeon, and Chae Soo-bin, will soon hit the Filipino households.
Reality singing and impersonation contest for celebrities “Your Face Sounds Familiar (YFSF)” will be back in 2017 with a twist. Instead of featuring adult celebrities, YFSF will have kids as its contestants. Sharon Cuneta, Gary Valenciano, and Ogie Alcasid will serve as the judges. Billy Crawford, meanwhile, will remain as host of the program.
Eight celebrities will compete against each other on the newest reality program “I Can Do That,” a U.S.-based reality program showcasing the artists’ unique talents that Kapamilya viewers should definitely watch out for.
Meanwhile, “Langit Lupa”—a story of the friendship of two kids raised from a poor and well-off family—will premiere on November 28. This prime-tanghali program will be starred by Yesha Camile and Xia Vigor together with Patrick Garcia, Alessandra de Rossi, and Jason Abalos.
