The top-rating and most-talked about Kapamilya afternoon teleserye “Tubig at Langis” bade goodbye to the press during its Thanksgiving Presscon last August 13.
According to ABS-CBN Business Unit Head Ruel Bayani, they can end the series with their heads held high because he can confidently claim that “Tubig at Langis” has been the most formidable and most successful series to ever occupy the afternoon block that has proven challenging for the network for a long time. Direk Ruel was also excited to announce that they are down to the last 4 weeks and they are confident that they have prepared a rife and loaded finale that they can be proud of.
As for “Tubig at Langis” lead star Cristine Reyes, pressure was something that she did not allow to affect her. Instead, she focused more on how she can do her job better and present her character the way that the directors, writers, and viewers want. Zanjo Marudo, on the other hand, revealed that just like with any other projects, he felt pressure at the start. However, when he learned that he’d be working opposite Cristine, the pressure was lessened because they have collaborated together a few times before, all of which turned out well. Zanjo also explained that being the lead star shouldn’t really pressure an actor as long as he knows that he’s doing his job and that he is backed up by a great cast, creative team and directors that are all working to continually enhance the show.
One of the draws for the series is the antagonist Clara, played by Isabelle Daza. The actress shared that she and Director Raymond Ocampo talked at the start of the series about how they wanted a character who may be the villain but still has a human side. This is why they showed Clara as someone who simply loved and became crazy because of that love. Isabelle shared that she loved the challenge of playing the kontrabida while still winning the love of the audience.
Another kontabida that the viewers love to hate is Lucy, played by Dionne Monsanto. When asked about her feelings on getting slapped a lot on the show, Dionne insisted that, as an actress, she doesn’t mind getting slapped or getting hurt over and over again. She even told everyone to watch out for the upcoming episodes where Isabelle will slap her so hard like she has never been hit before in her whole life.
