It is not always that a parent becomes like a best friend to their child. When it does happen, it can be very fulfilling. That is why Cristine Reyes is doing everything she can to really spend quality time with her Amarah. Their duo has traveled to beaches and resorts. They tried Japanese cuisine together. And even do simple things like practicing to write.  

On Magandang Buhay, the actress shared all about their closeness, “Mayroon na kaming kuwentuhan moments.” At three years old, the two ladies have a lot of talks together. Like a true talkative kid, Amarah would even volunteer to tell how her day went.  

Aside from all their adventures, they also have a cute routine whenever Cristine does not have work. Every morning, after breakfast, the mother would go to the gym while her daughter would go to school. Then they would meet up for some lunch before finishing up with nap time. “’Pag mayroong mahabang break, inaabuso ko talaga,” she admitted.  

It is hard to avoid not missing some school events for Cristine, “Gusto ko sana lagi akong present sa mga events.” But being a working mom, she has to make sacrifices and cross her fingers that Amarah would understand. “Kailangan mo i-explain din sa anak mo,” she reminded. Thankfully, she has not had much trouble because the mini-Cristine Reyes is a smart kid, “Parang feeling mo nakikita mo na pino-process niya ‘yung sinasabi ko sa kanya.”

The best part, however, is probably the fact that Amarah never fails to show how much she loves her mama, “Binubuhos ko ‘yunglove ko sa kanya and si Amarah rin nagri-reciprocate.”  

Cristine only hopes that they can stay likes this forever because she wants to be more than just a mother, but also a best friend. She wants to be the first to know about crushes and heartbreaks.  

Amarah’s sweetest moments are when she would randomly say, “Mommy, I love you.” A day does not pass without this daily dose of love. Recently, because Cristine is currently working on an action film and sometimes come home with bruises, the little angel would always be there to say, “Mommy, you take care.”
