The year 2019 brought Yeng Constantino in a place of abundant career milestones including an Album of the Decade Award, 50 million streams on the digital music platform Spotify, and having been named as one of the Top Artists of the Year. The Pop Rock Royalty pours her gratitude back at the supporters and listeners who never get tired of her music in the past 13 years.
Also this year, Yeng boldly stepped out of her comfort zone to conquer the world of acting. She stars in the MMFF entry “Write about Love”, a story of two writers of different genres collaborating for the perfect romantic screenplay. Yeng portrays the love interest of Joem Bascon’s character. Sharing a fun anecdote on her first acting gig, the OPM superstar said she was dumbfounded at the sight of Joem unbuttoning his top, as per the director’s command. She also shared romantic scenes with her on-screen partner. The good thing is her husband, Yan Asuncion, is utterly secured of her love and was never a jealous type. Although, she wishes to see her husband act jealous once in a while just to add a bit of spark in their relationship.
To end the interview, Yeng reacted to several issues using lines from her songs. She went for the break-up song “Cool Off” to comment on the city traffic. She sang “Pag-ibig” and “Salamat” to describe her first acting project and bank account, respectively. Yeng belted out her sensational hit “Hawak Kamay” for her supporters and “’Wag Kang Magtatanong” for her bashers.
The singer-songwriter goes back to her roots, pop-rock music, through her latest single “Sana Na Lang” now available on digital music stores
