The first ever Search for the Idol Philippines grand winner Zephanie Dimaranan was on Tonight With Boy Abunda last Tuesday, July 30.
Zephanie shared that winning the competition still hasn’t sinked in yet. “Let Your will be done, Lord,” she said, was the thought that kept repeating on her mind before and during her performance.

She said she also used her losing stints in past singing competitions to fuel her determination to give the best performance of the night. Zephanie lost in both Tawag ng Tanghalan and The Voice Kids but she knew that Idol Philippines was different and that it was finally her time to shine after so many years. Zephanie then performed her winning original song, “Pangarap Kong Pangarap Mo” written by Jonathan Manalo in the Idol Philippines Final Showdown.

Unknown to some, Zephanie is a big fan of the hit teleserye Kadenang Ginto. She shared that she’s sad that she hasn’t watched the show for three weeks due to her busy schedule in the competition but she vowed to catch up once she has some free time. Boy Abunda challenged her to portray the role of Cassie Mondragon while he will be Marga Bartolome. Zephanie and Tito Boy re-enacted Cassie and Marga’s lines in Kadenang Ginto to further prove Zephanie’s love for the show.
She also revealed that BoybandPH’s Russell Reyes is her crush due to his big brother aura since she grew up with a household full of sisters. If given the chance to sing a duet with Russell in the future, she said they’ll perform December Avenue’s “Kung ‘Di Rin Lang Ikaw.” She even sang a few lines that she dedicated to Russell.
To end the show, she played TWBA’s Fast Talk with a twist. She had to sing her answers instead of just saying it normally. She shared that her life’s hashtag is currently #ForeverGrateful.
Zephanie thanked all her fans for supporting her in the competition. “Pangarap Kong Pangarap Mo” is now available in all digital music stores and streaming services worldwide.
