Kapamilya actress Yassi Pressman, or popularly known as Alyana in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, started doing commercials when she was just six years old. The young and innocent Yassi did not even know how cameras work that time, so the production team drew a pig’s face in the lenses and asked her to keep her eyes focused on the animal’s nose. Her early beginnings taught Yassi the importance of saving her hard earned money which she gladly practices until now.
Yassi is undeniably one of showbiz' most beautiful faces; and given her mestiza look and elegant aura, Yassi would pass as a girl from the high society but she denies this misconception. She admits, though, that her Daddy Ronnie used to have a wealthy lifestyle before due to his large businesses, including gem and furniture lines. But unexpected turn of events suddenly took place and her father's businesses did not work out in the end; diminishing his riches and leading to a more challenging way of living.
In 1993, her Dad met her Mom, who is working as a domestic helper in Hongkong then. They both fell for each other and Yassi was born out of their love story in 1995. Her sister, Issa Pressman was born in 1997 and they all went home to the Philippines for good. Yet, after approximately eight years, her mother returned to Hongkong to continue in her work as a domestic helper.
At the moment, aside from acting, Yassi has already ventured into book writing as well and published her very own book, "Say Yass to Happiness" As its title suggests, "Say Yass to Happiness" aims to inspire and spark the reader's sense of joy; and is composed of interactive pages that can be filled-up by the readers themselves.
Yassi continues to be romantically linked with her leading man in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, Coco Martin. They have been working together as an on-screen pair for three years already and they have developed a deeper sense of friendship and closeness in that span of time. In fact, Coco has already had too much influence on Yassi including the latter's love for snakes. According to Yassi, it started out when Coco received a snake as a birthday gift from their co-star, Michael de Mesa.
Believing that the rolled-up live animal is just a toy, Yassi decides to play with it and instantly became fond of the creature. Yassi is in awe how specie like snake can magically awaken both her fear and excitement at the same time.
Yassi, or Yass to her friends and family, brings her favorite 'pet', "Fluffy", on the set of Tonight with Boy Abunda. Fluffy is a ball python, or the specie of snake that does not have venom; and an albino which is an aquatic animal. Tito Boy, who is admittedly scared of snakes, keeps a slight distance from Yassi and "Fluffy" while doing the interview.
Yassi has bought Fluffy from a certified veterinarian, therefore, the creature is safe. Yassi cuddles Fluffy in her hands and even let it crawl on stage. Sharing more facts about the creature, Yassi claims that python snakes are not dangerous and they live for thirty years.
