At fifteen, young performer Jayda Avanzado is slowly moving towards the footsteps of her parents, Jessa Zaragoza and Dingdong Avanzado, two of OPM’s most celebrated musicians. While she knows Jessa and Dingdong have different sounds, Jayda appreciates her Dad’s songwriting skills while she obviously imbibed her mother’s vocal range. Therefore, it is safe to say that Jayda is a combination of Dingdong and Jessa’s best traits.
The beautiful and talented singer takes pride in her own single entitled “Happy For You” which has already garnered more than a million streams on Spotify.
The song which talks about unrequited love was written by Jayda herself when she was just thirteen. When asked about the inspiration behind “Happy For You”, Jayda says she simply wanted to compose a piece which the Pinoy listeners would relate to. She sees the Filipino audiences as lovers of stories with bittersweet endings.
When asked about the matters of the heart, Jayda thinks she is still too young to take things seriously. But as a teenage girl, she already has her own list of qualities to look for in a guy. Jayda’s ideal guy is someone who is intelligent, nice, sweet, caring, thoughtful, with sense of humor, gets along with her family, understands her career, and cute.
Fans assume that more than just listing down her dream guy’s attributes, Jayda is describing fellow singer Darren Espanto instead. Jayda admits Darren possesses such traits. Darren would often check up on her and remind her of his support and presence in her life. More so, Darren visits in their house and is very respectful to her parents. But Jayda insists that she and Darren are just close friends. According to her, Darren’s efforts to drop by their house is nothing but ‘dalaw-kaibigan’.
