It’s Showtime Hashtags Wilbert Ross and Kid Yambao visited the Tonight With Boy Abunda studio and cleared up some rumors and gave some sneak peeks of their future projects in the industry.
Rumor has it that Erwan Heussaff was jealous over Wilbert due to a photo he posted with Anne Curtis on Instagram where they seem to be too close to each other. He revealed that Anne mentioned that Erwan asked about him after seeing their picture. “Who’s that guy?,” Erwan inquired. The vlogger-chef is known to be a supportive husband to Anne and doesn’t usually comment on photos where Anne is too close with her co-stars.
Boy Abunda proceeded to ask Kid and Wilbert about their firsts in the showbiz industry. “Maaari Ba?” is Wilbert’s first ever solo single since he joined the Hashtags. He explained that the song was about the struggle and pain of moving on after a break-up and was inspired by his own break-up with his ex-girlfriend. “Maaari Ba” was written a week after Wilbert’s real-life break-up and the lines were written separately day by day as he moved on from the said break-up. “Maaari Ba” is now streaming in all digital music streaming services nationwide. Aside from his single, Wilbert was also a part of the blockbuster film “Hello, Love, Goodbye.” He expressed his gratitude to his supporters who have watched the film and the producers who gave him a chance to star in the big screen.
On the other hand, Kid will star in his first teleserye Pamilya Ko alongside JM De Guzman and Arci Munoz. Pamilya Ko is about a typical Filipino family who have their fair share of ups and downs but their love for each other prevails in the end. Kid jokingly said that he plays the kindest sibling in the family. But in all seriousness, Kid is the younger sibling who dutifully obeys the orders of his mother. Pamilya Ko will premiere on Primetime Bida starting in September. Aside from his upcoming teleserye, Kid also promoted his movie with Yen Santos, “Two Love You,” coming soon in cinemas nationwide.
A netizen asked if the Hashtags members were insecure of the BidaMan winners since they’re now their ‘competitors’ in the noontime show. “Lahat naman po tayo nangangarap eh,” Kid explained that opportunities come and go especially in the showbiz industry. He added that It’s Showtime is just giving opportunities to different talented and deserving individuals like themselves to enter showbiz in their own ways. “Bigyan natin ng chance ‘yung mga dreamers kasi dumaan din kami dun eh,” Wilbert shared that having newcomers in the show serves as their motivation to step up and become better in all aspects of their showmanship.
Another rumor circulating online is that Hashtag members are the closest to Vice Ganda in the show. Wilbert explained that they spend the most time with Vice since they get along well as compared to others. “Parang nanay po kasi,” Kid added that Vice treats them like family and even scolds them whenever they commit a mistake. Kid told the story of one instance when he lied to Vice. Apparently, Vice cooked adobo and asked them if it tasted good in which Kid lied that it was delicious instead of admitting that it was too salty for his taste.
And to end the show, Kid and Wilbert played TWBA’s Fast Talk. Wilbert chose morenas over mestizas. While Kid revealed that Joana Hipolito is the sexiest GirlTrend member. Wilbert exposed Kid as the bully of the Hashtags. “Sarili ko lang,” Wilbert said when asked who currently owns his heart. They both preferred lights on and chose sex over chocolates.
