‘KilaboTitos’ Ogie Alcasid and Ian Veneracion brought fun and kilig on the TWBA studio as they talk about their upcoming concert. According to Ogie, the wordplay ‘KilaboTitos’ was somewhat inspired by Ian’s huge fan base composed mostly of Titas and Senior Citizens. “Ang complaint ko is that sa dami ng mga senior fans niya, ang dami naming tickets na twenty percent off. Sabi ko, bottomline, teka kikita ba tayo,” Ogie said in jest.
Ian doesn’t mind being tagged as the heartthrob of aged fans. He, in fact, takes it as a compliment to his effectiveness as an actor. “I feel proud. I call them the discerning ones. For example, when you’re an actor and you do a scene saying ‘I love you’ to your partner, it’s easy to convince someone who’s young and wala pang masyadong experience. Pero, for someone who’s ka-age natin or Tita or Lola, they can see if you’re lying, eh. So, feeling ko mas mahirap i-please”, the timeless actor explained.
Still taking about the topic on being Titos, Ogie admitted that he already suffers from joint pains most of the time, hence, the growing penchant for essential oils. And he had a hilarious anecdote about liniment and making love. “’Pag minsan, gusto mo ng sexy time, eh ‘yung asawa ko mahilig mag-liniment. Ilalagay niya sa batok, eh siyempre ‘pag yayakap ka sa likod, parang ‘teka, ang sakit sa mata’. Kaya minsan, ite-text ko siya, ‘Hon, pauwi na ako. Tulog na ba si Nate? ‘Wag ka munang mag-liniment’. Sakit sa mata, eh,” revealed Ogie. Yet, the Tito still has millennial vibes in him and proving so is his fondness for watching Korean drama series. “Goblin” and “Crash Landing on You” are among his favorites.
Although, Ian still couldn’t relate with Ogie’s funny stories about muscle pain relievers, he has a different experience to share. He said that he’d always feels delighted when approached by lovely ladies for photo opportunities but only to be told, “My mom is a big fan of you.” Laughter echoed around the studio.
