“Very daring and bold” is how Priscilla Almeda describes her life as a ‘90s sexy star and she was aware that the public perceived her that way even behind the cameras. But Priscilla vows that it was just an on-screen persona and nothing more. She actually started in showbiz as the wholesome teen star Abby Viduya, her real name. But a “personal tragedy” happened, forcing her to become quite rebellious and re-invent herself into a sexy actress as a manner of protest. She then craved for a simpler life, went to Canada, lived there for good and had kids.
After a long time of showbiz hiatus, Priscilla recently made a comeback via FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano because she missed the industry and due to some personal reasons as well. Priscilla had fun working with the Team Promdi especially with its lead stars Coco Martin and Yassi Pressman. If given the chance, she would love to portray as an antagonist a la Daniela Mondragon, played by Dimples Romana, in the afternoon series Kadenang Ginto. Priscilla proves that she can pull off a feisty character and tweaks Daniela’s dialogue with her own kontrabida style.
The actress openly talks about her reconciliation with Jomari Yllana, her first love and first boyfriend when she was 15. Theirs was a close and innocent love affair. They would sleep on the same bed but with Priscilla’s aunt watching over them. However, since they were still young and their careers were just starting out at that time, they eventually grew apart.
In 2015, the ex-lovers reconnected through social media. Priscilla and Jomari rekindled their closeness and spent more time reminiscing on their romantic past. They officially became a couple while on a vacation in Hong Kong, probably a manifestation of a fortuneteller’s premonition that Priscilla would find her true love in the said country. “Kinikilig ako,” says Priscilla as a reaction to her beau’s statement that she would be the last woman in his life. In return, she is also determined to say ‘yes’ to Jomari if he asks her hand in marriage.
Priscilla clarifies that she and Jomari have long been separated from their ex-partners before they got back together, contrary to their exes’ allegations. Priscilla claims that she and Jomari are happy, they know the truth, and they trust each other.
Taking on the Fast Talk Challenge, Priscilla says she prefers an intelligent man than a handsome one. In a scale of just 1-10, she rated her level of happiness as 20. She isn’t the jealous type. Priscilla goes for “Syota ng Bayan” when asked for the most daring film she did. She thinks her eyes are the sexiest part of her body. She would choose “Serendipity” as the title of her and Jomari’s love story.
