From singing to acting, KZ Tandingan now conquers the big screen via romantic-comedy film “The Art of Ligaw”. The movie tells the story of Jake, portrayed by Epy Quizon, who never courted a girl before until he meets Carisse, KZ’s character.
She may be considered a novice in acting but KZ is bound to impress everyone with her talent and versatility. Even her leading man, Epy, compares her to Superstar Nora Aunor. “Baka sa height lang,” KZ says in jest trying to downplay the overwhelming comparison. To show audiences a glimpse of her acting chops, KZ delivers the popular lines from Nora’s iconic 1982 film, “Himala”.
Most of the scenes from “The Art of Ligaw” were shot in Davao City, where KZ hailed from. She is thankful that their family’s residential property was not damaged after the recent destructive earthquake that hit parts of Mindanao. Her family is safe as well but KZ feels downhearted for her fellows from Digos City who were affected and still terrified by the incident. In the aftermath of the earthquake, several establishments in KZ’s hometown remain closed.
The Asia’s Soul Supreme takes on the Fast Talk Challenge. KZ mentions Ebe Dencel’s “Huwag Ka Nang Umiyak” as the song she wished she originally recorded. She says RNB Queen Kyla is an idol not just to her but to most of her contemporaries as well.
KZ no longer wants to compare who gives more between her and boyfriend TJ Monterde but she is certain that she’s madly in love with him. “Ang buhay ay hindi karera. Darating at darating kung tama ang panahon,” the versatile performer utters when asked if she’s growing impatient of TJ’s marriage proposal.
