Veteran actress Coney Reyes has been in the show business for more than four decades but she never grows tired of the industry that embraced her brilliant gift. Her craft just keeps on getting more exciting. The boldness and growth as an actress have become stronger now compared to when she was younger. “Parang ngayon lang talaga ako nag-eenjoy sa pagiging artista ko,” she started, when asked how much she has evolved as an actress during an appearance for TWBA aired in June 2017.
She might be in love with the job since the beginning but Coney said she wasn’t that open to explore her craft during her younger years. “Dati kapag ayaw ko, ayaw ko, eh. Madalas ako magsabi noon ng ‘no’ sa mga projects,” she admitted.
The 100 Days To Heaven star confessed that her love life and time with kids were the major factors why she kept on turning down projects. “Noong una kasi it was because of the love life. Kasi kung busy ako, may daily show, weekly show, tapos tatanggap pa ako ng pelikula, wala na akong time for my love life and my children.”
Asked if she turned out to be the mother she thought she would be, Coney replied, “I’m the mother that I also wanted to be because I wanted to be loving and caring, and to just be there for them.” She’s honest to admit that she isn’t a perfect mother but she always try to be exactly the mother that her children need in their lives.
Coney has three children – LA Mumar, Carla Mumar, and Vico Sotto. The latter was spotted in the audience during this interview.
