Without any prior announcement, Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli wed in a civil ceremony last Thursday, February 20 in Taguig City. But the supposed ‘secret’ wedding was confirmed and even turned into an online circus after the leakage of a blotter report filed by Sarah’s bodyguard, Jerry Tamara, who was allegedly hit by Matteo during the wedding reception. According to the news, the scuffle began when Jerry tried to stop Sarah from leaving the venue following the unexpected arrival of her mother, Divine Geronimo. Matteo already denied the allegation via phone interview with ABS-CBN reporter Mario Dumaual on Friday (February 21).
After breaking the internet over the weekend, Sarah went back to work on Monday (February 24) for the taping of The Voice Teens Philippines. Behind-the-scene photos reveal that OPM icons Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid were on the set that day. The Popstar Royalty was also spotted wearing her wedding ring on her finger. When approached by the TWBA team for a statement, now Mrs. Guidicelli smiled and opted to remain silent about the issue. Prior to this scene, the newlyweds attended a party hosted by couple Ryan Agoncillo and Judy Ann Santos on Sunday night.
Meanwhile, Boy Abunda also discussed news about the Senate hearing on ABS-CBN franchise renewal held on Monday morning. As clarified by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the company has no tax liabilities and violations. ABS-CBN has paid more than 14 billion pesos in taxes from 2016 to 2019. Further, ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo L. Katigbak apologized to President Rodrigo Duterte over unintended failure to air his political advertisements during the 2016 elections. Mr. Katigbak also insists that the company “does not, and will not have its own political agenda.”
