With his handsome ‘tisoy’ looks, Rhys Miguel could easily pass as the brother of Kapamilya heartthrobs Enrique Gil and James Reid. In this throwback video from Tonight with Boy Abunda, Rhys was asked to copy James and Enrique’s poses and he nailed the challenge!
Rhys said he first met James during a JaDine concert in Chicago back in 2016, “I waited in line for two hours to have a picture with them.” That was two years before he joined the reality show Pinoy Big Brother. By that time, Rhys already showed ‘artista’ potential as people thought he was James’ brother.
“The person turned around and started talking to me. They were like ‘Ay! Ikaw ‘yung kapatid ni James Reid!’ Sabi ng Tito ko, ‘Hindi, hindi.’ Yan ‘yung first idea na siguro kaya ko sa Philippines po.”
After his stint in PBB, Rhys showcased more of his potential through TV guestings and online appearances. In 2020, he was launched as part of the pioneer batch of stars under ABS-CBN Film’s Rise Artists Studio.
Rhys, together with fellow PBB alum and love team partner Kaori Oinuma starred in the digital series “Four Bad Boys and Me.” They were recently was cast in the successful teen series He’s Into Her topbilled by Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano aka DonBelle.
Also this year, the KaoRhys tandem will be working on their first lead movie roles via “Love at First Stream'' alongside fellow Rise Artists Daniela Stranner and Anthony Jennings, and directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina.
