In her TWBA guesting in 2019, Regine Velasquez took on the True or False Challenge where she revealed interesting facts about herself.
The Asia’s Songbird denied asking for millions as her talent fee for every three songs she would perform. “BIR, Hello?”, she joked. In fact, Regine can still perform for free especially when guesting in friends’ concerts.
She also denied being banned at The Big Dome. She said she is not a jealous wife. Regine shared that her husband, Ogie Alcasid, doesn’t give her any reason to doubt his faithfulness.
One fun fact about the Songbird is she sleeps in a de kwatro or cross-legged position, saying she is not aware that she is doing it. Ogie can’t even contain his laughter when he discovered it.
Regine takes singing and performing seriously. Despite being dubbed as one of the biggest singers in the country, the Songbird still has burning passion for her craft. She may be known as one of the pillars of local music industry but Regine admitted still taking voice lessons until now.
Coached by Kitchie Molina, Regine needed to constantly re-learn several musical concepts and techniques she had mastered in the past. She also wanted to let go of her usual styles and acquire new ones in order to adapt with the changes in her throat and vocal abilities.
“Because I’m older”, the Songbird admits. Regine is more careful in her singing techniques to avoid abusing her throat.
