Raymond Bagatsing and Rachel Alejandro are bound to give moviegoers a good travel down history and memory lane via “Quezon’s Game.” The movie tells the story of President Manuel L. Quezon and his compassionate and heroic act of taking in Jewish refugees in 1938; the time when most Jews were persecuted and executed in Germany.
“It was not an easy thing to do because we were then a Commonwealth of the United States”, lead actress Rachel says about Quezon’s noble act. “President Quezon, along with the Filipinos and other characters, did something to make it happen and thousands were saved”, adds Rachel who takes on the role of first lady Aurora Aragon Quezon.
Raymond, on the other hand, displays his impressive acting prowess as Manuel L. Quezon. He even sounded like the late President when he invited moviegoers to catch the film showing on May 29.
Raymond and Rachel act as lovers in the film but in reality, their own personal affairs are tainted with controversies. Rumor has it that Rachel has already parted ways with husband Carlos Santamaria. To end the malicious speculations, the beautiful actress reveals she and Carlos are just in a long-distance relationship at the moment.
Carlos has moved in to New York for his job as an editor and writer in the UN. So, Rachel goes in a lot of back and forth travels from Philippines to New York. “Nakakapagod pero may mga opportunities pa rin, eh,” relates Rachel who is set to make another film later this year.
Meanwhile, Raymond is currently dating again after his failed relationships in the past.
