Aside from the colorful personalities comprising the local tinseltown, impersonators also add life in the world of showbiz and the performing arts. One of the most parodied celebrities is the Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla.
Those who copy Zsa Zsa exaggerate her performances by singing through a nasal voice and trembling or pouting the lips all throughout the act. But, despite the overly done lip movements (which daughter, Karylle refers to as “The Padilla Pout”) and nasal singing, Zsa Zsa never gets offended with these impersonations. She understands that her movements will have to be overemphasized because after all, that is what makes the audiences amused.
At the moment, Zsa zsa is busy planning her wedding with partner, Architect Conrad Onglao. Zsa Zsa and Conrad try to be as hands-on as they could despite their busy schedules. They have already gone over the basic requirements such as requesting for a Certificate of No Marriage which Zsa Zsa had a major problem with, not because of her past union with Dr. Modesto Tatlonghari which has already been annulled; but due to a fraud where she was secretly dragged into. Apparently, someone has used her identity for an unknown purpose. Zsa Zsa has fortunately ironed this out by going through a legal process which she describes as quite uneasy.
One major project on Zsa Zsa’s plate is a Post-Mother’s Day concert which will be held on May 16 at the Newport Theater. Several guests include Ian Veneracion and Zeus Collins. Her daughter, Karylle will also be part of the show entitled “Totally Zsa Zsa”.
When asked with the possibility of Conrad getting jealous with Zeus, Zsa Zsa claims she is too busy to flirt. “Zeus ko po! Wala akong panahon kumembot!”, the Divine Diva says in jest.
