Truly an achiever and a girl full of dreams, Binibining Pilipinas International 2019 Patch Magtanong was once torn between two of her biggest desires – becoming a beauty queen and a lawyer.
Patch revealed she was caught in a dilemma and she even almost gave up her pageant dreams in fear of losing the chance of passing the Bar Examinations amid her trainings. But then again, Patch found the right kind of fuel that drove her into pursuing both dreams at the same time.
“Failure is not the opposite of success; it’s a part of it. Everybody fails but it doesn’t mean that you’re any less of a person. It just means that you have a chance to learn from it and do it right the next time, so I really felt that and all my fears just washed away. I thought, ‘So what if I fail the Bar? Then, I’ll do it again’”, the twenty-five-year-old beauty queen shared.
Binibing Pilipinas was Patch’s first ever attempt to joining a pageant, so she was quite challenged with her confidence. She admitted having zero confidence at first but the three months of trainings surprisingly gave her enough wisdom and experience.
Patch also felt the weight of everyone’s expectations, adding pressure to her journey. Nonetheless, she has learned to ease the tension and unwind by watching online tutorial videos. This habit was the key that opened her passion for painting and playing the ukulele.
If she has the chance to paint a man in nude, she would choose Derek Ramsay or Piolo Pascual as her model. Patch also showed off her ukulele playing skills during her TWBA guesting.
