“I did want the Miss Universe crown. It’s what I worked for. It’s what I had my eyes on and it’s what I prayed for but everything happens for a reason,” Binibining Pilipinas International 2019 Patch Magtanong said when asked whether she believes she deserves the Miss Universe crown more.
The moment Patch aced the Binibining Pilipinas 2019 stage with her graceful and delicate demeanor and impressive wit, pageant enthusiasts already listed her down as the candidate most likely to bag the Miss Universe crown. But, contrary to most people’s expectations, Patch landed on an International title instead. Weeks after the coronation night, netizens’ dismay grew stronger when Patch passed the 2019 Bar Examinations.
With yet another admirable achievement under her belt, astonished netizens said she could’ve been the perfect representative to the Miss Universe stage. While Patch admitted the Miss Universe crown was her main goal, she clarified that she is content with her award. Besides, the twenty-five-year old beauty queen believes she’s got a great title and the Philippines have already produced an outstanding roster of past Miss International winners.
But, how did the remarks affect her friendship with Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados? “Every time I approach her, I have this guilt because I know that she was getting attacked by my followers but we are good friends now,” Patch clarified in her TWBA guesting.
Patch also made an effort to ease the tension between her and Gazini. “I sat down on her table with the other girls from the other beauty camp and I started talking with them. Gazini is so nice, she’s so fierce and strong in photos but she is such a sweet person,” she added.
