The public especially fans who witnessed Kim Chiu’s Pinoy Big Brother journey know that she’s a bold dreamer. She’s not afraid to take risks. In her decade-long career, the Kapmilya actress continues to explore her artistry and she seems to have found a new love in hosting.
Even veteran host Boy Abunda is impressed with Kim’s hosting chops. He said she’s improved a lot. Kim expressed thanks and said that she has found the joy in hosting. She learned that to be able to pull it off, she must have fun and keep it real on stage, unlike before when she’d feel extremely anxious. More importantly, she stopped overthinking and being her own critique.
Kim credits the It’s Showtime family for helping her build confidence. She also learns a lot from her PBB co-hosts. Thanks to everyone’s encouragement, Kim discovered a skill she didn’t knew she had.
In this episode of TWBA, Kim also talked about portraying the life of volleyball player Cherry Ann “Sisi” Rondina on Maalaala Mo Kaya. She has always been a fan of Sisi, thus there’s pressure playing the role of the UST volleyball team campaign. They share a lot in common – their Bisaya roots, love for volleyball, and the fire to dream big. There was a crying scene where she found it hard to exert emotions as she was busy fangirling over Sisi’s presence on the set.
Kim also mentioned that her dream role is to play Disney Princess Mulan. She quipped that maybe she can take on this wish in another lifetime.
The Chinita Princess reacted to a viral video wherein she could be seen hesitant to kiss Xian Lim during his birthday celebration. She clarified that she just didn’t feel comfortable to act sweet in front of the crowd. Kim is proud of Xian’s achievements, taking the director’s chair for Cinemalaya among the recent ones.
Before the interview ends, Kim shared her proven skincare routine. After washing her face, she uses ice cubes to close her pores especially since it’s hot and humid in the Philippines, making the skin prone to oiliness and breakouts. Just rub the ice cube on the face, the colder it feels, the open the pores are.
Whenever she has a pimple, Kim takes a raw egg fresh from the fridge and rolls it over the breakout to reduce its size. On most days, she settles for a facemask and uses a fan to dry it out. Kim maximizes the mask by using its extra serum on the face and neck.
Kim also played “The Last Five.” She revealed that the last time she got drunk was months ago on her birthday party. The last time she cried was during her MMK taping, a day prior to the interview. She feels sexy all the time. She said she last kissed Xian the other day before her guesting. Asked to rate Xian as a kisser, Kim covered her face in embarrassment and refused to answer.
